This is the very best short book on Winston Churchill. It covers his entire life and weighs less than one pound - a feat in itself. Theakston is an easy writer to read, and no words are wasted. He is an expert on Britain's prime ministers and all the important facts about Churchill, both politically and personally, are here. I only wish the print were larger so it would be easier to place in the hands of young people, but it is accessible in every other way, including well-chosen photographs. If one were interested in studying Churchill, this would be the perfect overview. Or by reading this book, a student might figure out which area of Churchill's life she wants to research in depth.
