Fantastic quality for the price
I bought this little tablet reduced to £61 during the Black Friday sale. It’s really good. Well worth the full price, never mind the price I paid. This is a lovely mid-sized tablet. It comes in a neat box with the only plastic packaging a bag around the device itself, something that’s required in the shipping of items with inbuilt batteries. The tablet is accompanied by a charger plug and USB-C cable, though you need your own wireless charger. I have an Otterbox charging pad that this seems to work with happily enough. The back of the tablet has a dimpled texture all over. The housing is made from plastic that feels quite soft to touch and is not slippery. I opted for preregistration associating this with my account. This still required router password access and sign-in passwords, but no fiddling about with finding and adding serial numbers. If I’d wanted to set this up as a child’s device, this would have been easy to do, with prompts included as part of the setup process. The screen quality is really very good. It doesn’t quite have the sharpness of the display on my iPad, but it’s not far off and since this cost a small fraction of the iPad price I’m quite impressed with it. The audio quality is good for a tablet. Playback of videos is excellent - good, sharp, crisp images and clear sound. The cameras are pretty good, coping well in natural daylight and yielding decent quality images and videos. Screen rotation is quick, if a little jerky. Browser performance is fast. This is a feature-packed device, with plenty of Apps pre-installed including the Silk browser, Prime Video, and Kindle apps. One thing I wasn’t so impressed by was that sign-ups to Audible and Kindle Unlimited were pushed as part of the setup process - it would not be hard to sign up accidentally.

Efficient and surprisingly good
Im comparing this to a lenovo chrome tablet I recently returned. I think this is a lot better, the screen is more responsive with less lag. Speakers very good quality. Ill be honest amazon app store is rubbish - but its very easy to load APK files, which you cant do on chrome os anymore. If you dont really like google, and dont need the features of an ipad, this is great frankly. Charging is ok, not that fast. I have not fully charged up yet so cant comment on battery life. Silk browser is really fast and well optimised, and if offers to disable alexa with a pop up, thats so nice compared to having to mess with developer options to disable and enable stuff. Its kinda of funny that fire os has become one of the least obtrusive with google and microsofts actions, ill probably stick with kindle fires for any tablet needs in future. Recommended 9/10, only avoid if you need play services in full or heavy app usage like photo editing, then youll need to spend a lot more anyway.

Excellent kindle and a bunch more
I've had a Kindle Paperwhite for a few years, and love it. Light weight, decent screen, good battery life but... it's just an ebook reader. So I thought I'd try this instead. Similar size, heavier and the battery & screen aren't as good if you just want an e-reader. But the screen and battery are pretty good when just reading and you can switch in seconds to watching videos or reading the news, use it as a small notepad or grab your email, then flip back to reading. I know all that is pretty obvious but it just made this 8" tablet the perfect travelling companion for me.On a personal note, the Kindle's operating system never seemed intuitive for me, unlike even Amazon's version of Android, and the usb-c port was the killer blow.

Worth it? Yes. :)
Ok so I am off on a long haul flight soon and wanted a new tablet to enable film use and to help alleviate the boredom. I was going to get an iPad Mini or something similar and this popped up. For the money, I decided to take a punt.First impressions:Build: ExcellentFeel: Well made and fit for purposeScreen: Good quality glass but the brightness is crap. Even on full its not the brightest and I think this will impact the experience and battery life quite a lot.Apps: A bit hit & miss tbh. Im disappointed as I cant use Deezer on this and that's annoying. Amazon dropped the ball here.Speakers: Could be a little better but they are ideal for when alone and no background noise.Blutooth: I hooked up my AirPods Pro to this seamlessly so that's a bonus.Storage: 64gb is recommended as 32gb would get eaten up in minutes. You can upgrade the storage with micro SD cards and I am yet to try this. It says up to 1tb but the suggested SD cards are only 64gb so not sure why.Processor & RAM: Despite having 3gb RAM this has been glitchy whilst only running Disney+/Netflix/Prime Video and I do genuinely expect better.Overall: 3/5 but I kinda expected that based on the price. If the glitches were sorted it would get a 4/5 and if it could play the common apps like Deezer, I would give it a higher score for that.Is it better than an iPad.... no. is it cheaper? Hell yes. Does it do the same job? Pretty much yes but I wouldn't want to do major work on this as it simply couldn't handle it. An iPad could.I will however be buying another few of these for the kids and wife for the trip so that has to mean something.Yours. Apple fan club member.

love everything about this kindle fire
All-new Fire HD 8 Plus tablet | 8-inch HD display, 64 GB, 30% faster processor, and 3 GB RAM is one excellent value tablet which is extremely easy to use due to the excellent high-definition screen and the fact Amazon has created a first-class tablet which delivers everything the manufacturer promises.I love the feel and quality of the tablet and also it is so comfortable to hold even when in use for a prolonged period of time. It delivers the information and data quickly and in a clean display, as well as holding a charge for a much longer time compared to other computer tablets which are so much more expensive to purchase. It is lightweight as well as clean and lines and looks good too when in use.A first-class computer tablet which is sold at a great price.Happy to recommend.
