A Praying Church: Becoming a People of Hope in a Discouraging World

This book is a vital tool for the church. It leads Christians to be people of prayer. If even 10 percent of churches prayed following the suggestions in it there would be a great revival in the world.

I’ve been waiting for this book for several years and the waiting has just made it all the better. When I first began researching and writing about the life and ministry of Paul’s father, I was captivated by Jack Miller’s own emphasis on corporate prayer in his practice and teaching. Paul’s “A Praying Life” is itself a must read for personal prayer. But I found little by current authors call8ng Christians to pray together in the way Jack—and more importantly—the Bible does. Consequently, I am grateful to the Lord for Paul Miller and his family, and to have read “A Praying Church.” I will certainly share it with others in my own life and ministry even as I heartily recommend it to you.

This book is wonderful. Paul Miller has such a clear easy way of writing. I have purchased several more copies to give to friends. A must for pastors.

His conversational tone mixed with personal stories, as well as those of others, invite the reader into an engaging journey on the ministry of prayer. With grace, he outlines the misperceptions of prayer frequently found in churches and defines the church's true prayer ministry.This book is a new favorite of mine. I found it insightful and inspirational.

Paul E. Miller is an excellent writer and is extremely insightful on the subject of ‘prayer.’ Especially today, where is so much confusion about prayer. I strongly encourage every pastor, church elder, deacon and lay leader to read this book. The answer for the church today is not more programs but prayer!
