Intricate and very detailed for a wooden model.
I would not call this a "puzzle". This is definitely a wooden model. I think it's very strange that in the description they say its for "boys/girls/dad/mom". Just say it's for everyone or anyone who wants to build a wooden construction vehicle. Anyway, for a prefab wooden model, it is very detailed and very intricate. The instructions are fairly clear with detailed pictures. The only thing the instructions weren't clear about is whether or not you are supposed to use glue. I used CA glue VERY sparingly in a few places using a pin as an applicator and just using the tiniest of a drop. Be careful of where you apply it and how much you apply so as not to discolor the paint. I also recommend using tweezers for the smaller parts to help assemble the model. For an experienced model builder, this is an easy model to assemble. For a younger or more novice builder, make sure you go slow and take your time. If you do, you will be well rewarded. The description also calls this a "toy". I think that is a bit deceptive or misnamed. While maybe it's a toy in the strictest sense, it is fragile and will not hold up to being played with hard. This is a model with moveable parts where the joy and satisfaction comes from the time and effort that is put into building it and then admiring your handy work when it is completed. This is a really unique wooden model and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys building models.

Almost better than legos!
This was one of the greatest things I've received. This puzzle comes in several sheets and by following the instructions you pop out the pieces and assemble the truck or other machine you bought. The pieces are somewhat fragile, but they were prepared for that giving you PLENTY of extra pieces. The only criticism I have is that I wish they included some tweezers or a tool to push the pieces out. It can get painful after doing it for so long.

Difficult tedious assembly
I found this to be difficult and tedious to assemble. I would not recommend it for an 8 as stated on the listing. It would be much more appropriate for an older child, 12+ years. It is not an simple wooden puzzle at all. You have to figure out how to match the pieces to the picture instructions by number. This was made impossible for the black painted pieces because you cannot see the corresponding numbers to match them. If you want a major challenge for your puzzle skills and problem solving ability then this may be the puzzle for you.

Great Model kit if you have patience.
The ROKR 3D Puzzles Wooden excavator comes in a flat box that contains 4 ½ thin sheets of wood. Each of the sheets hold numerous parts that you need to remove. The parts are labeled, so you don’t need a secret decoder ring to figure out what the part numbers are. I’ve done other models like this that require you to go back to an instruction page to cross reference the parts and match them up to the picture. This was a nice surprise to see the clear part numbers marked on the wooden sheets that point to each piece. My wood sheets were painted yellow and black. The part number markings on the black sheets are black, so this wasn’t awesome. You also get a tiny piece of sandpaper to help remove any tiny burs on the parts that are left after you break the parts from the sheet. I sanded every part. You need a ton of patience for this model. Some of the parts are tiny and fragile. This isn’t a complaint, only an observation. The box says there are 395 pieces. I had a bunch of spare pieces left over after assembly. I triple checked my build, and I did it correctly, so they must give you extras of pieces that normally break. I didn’t realize there were extras, so if something broke, I glued it. I partially broke 3 tiny pieces and 1 accordion piece. The Rokr box says this model is recommended for ages 8+. The Amazon description says 14+. I would lean toward 14+. The box also gives this a 3 out of 5 for difficulty. I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 (maybe even a 5 of 5). It took me 10 hours or more to complete the model. I worked on the excavator nights for 1 to 1 ½ hours each night. Each side of the excavator track (just the belt part of the track) took me 35 minutes each side. I did take time to sand the burs off of each part before assembly.Overall, I loved assembling the Rokr excavator. I loved it so much, I also ordered the Bulldozer, which I would call a payloader, for my next project. If you have patience, tweezers, and some glue (just in case), this is the project for you!

Absolute nightmare
Part was missing, then I broke a part that is impossible to assemble (twice), ordered replacements and paid $5.00 shipping. 3+ weeks later I get them they sent 4 replacements for the one I broke 2 of them were stuck together and unusable and I broke the other 2 again trying to assemble it. This forklift is headed for a landfill now!!
