Does not work as advertised. App function are easy and light is bright when on a color setting but when in tv mode, it's to dim and does not follow screen colors as they advertise. On most videos, it doesn't work at all. Colors are great when putting it on a solid color or using the scene functions.. screen consistantly flickers, I had install to all new 8k hdmi cables with install, tried different cables, still flicker all the time... Disappointed.... maybe they could update the firmware for a fix?UPDATE;So, I purchased this on Aug 29th, installed on Sept 2, light stopped working on Oct 18th, when set on tv mode, tv shows "no signal", but the light still works with the source... of course, no support & non returnable.. although the solid colors & scenes still work great, never had any issues with the app...Dropped a 🌟 would like to take away all stars due to "in use" time. Not worth the price!

The media could not be loaded. This is the best item I ever got. I recommend buying it for any type of movies or gaming consoles I recommend getting it.

...But gave it 4 stars due that for videos, the lights are not as bright as in music or scene modes.When in video mode, room needs to be really dark to appreciate the light show synced with the movie.

I initially had a glowing review because it was a good price and I was initially impressed with the effect. But I also ordered a similar box from another seller that appeared to be the same device, but had a model number that ended in 2 instead of 1. After observing both devices, it was clear to me that the device I am reviewing now had some deficiencies when using the app. The Intensity setting had no effect. And compared to the competing device, the intensity seemed locked at a lowest setting no matter what was selected on the app. The WideFilm setting also seemed to no effect compared to the competing device. I can't say for sure if this had to do with the lower model number this seller is selling, or if I just had a defective box. I would just recommend you check that the Intensity setting in the app is responsive for you because if it isn't, you'll be missing out. Regardless of which model number of this device you end up with, there are a few limitations you may need to contend with. First, since you must send a video signal to this device. You won't be able to enjoy the dynamic edge lighting when you watch any video that is native on your TV. You must be watching video coming into the TV HDMI port. Second, you can only send one HDMI signal into this box. So if you currently have video going into more than one HDMI port on your TV, you may want to invest in an HDMI switch and be sure that it supports 4K. That way you can remotely switch which video signal goes into this device. And finally, this device does not properly handle streams that have Dolby Vision. So 4k streams from HBOMax or Disney+ won't get the lighting effect you want. I ended up buying an HDMI splitter to send the "pure" 4K signal directly to the TV and the splitter had the ability to downgrade the other output so that it was 1080p with no of those bells and whistles in the signal. I sent this downgraded signal to this backlighting device where it terminated rather than passing it through to the TV. After this rather complicated setup, I am satisfied with the ability to switch between multiple devices, all of which get the awesome light show regardless of how "advanced" the video signal is.

I have 3 different kind of tvs even one that is newer. All 3 are unable to sync to the tv. I’ve spent hours trying to get it to work and still was unable. I see a lot of people having similar issues. Stay away no help or customer support

This are a great lights it really gets synced with the content at the tv, considering the price it is a good alternative to the hue lights, also it has the option to turn on and off the lights automatically with ur tv through the USB port, sadly that feature was not compatible with my tv, but it is awesome they gives you that option, you can also connect it to the Internet and control your lights with your voice and the app, by the way the brightness depends on how bright is the actual picture on the tv so it varies but so far it is an amazing product.

This does not follow the color scheme of your TV, the only mode that works is music mode. Some of the presets work that you get when using the app. But for as much as I paid for this I expected it to work.

I was not familiar with this sort of device before purchase. I'm not sure its necessary, but it certainly adds something to the viewing. While I am still working out how to get it to work as well as others have reported with movies, it is fantastic with sound.I really enjoy listening to music, it very much takes me back to the early 2000s and using winamp.Our lights did not stick very well to our TV, but we were able to use gentle adhesives to affix the lights. The item actually ended up being compatible with other apps we use, so it was very easy to set up.
