"BladeFins are created using structural fame designs used in aircraft and Indy race cars. Atomic BladeFins are engineered for power and thrust. The design consists of Power-Loop Monocoque Structure, Foot Pocket Power Plate, Power Rail, and Vertical Stabilizers. Atomic BladeFins are designed to allow divers to cruise through water, maximize kicking power, keep fin tracking straight up and down with every kick, and of course stylish with the fin and buckle."

Not a floppy fin but that is so nice
Before you buy fins for the first time, do some research. There are rigid fins and floppy fins that look very similar. This one is a rigid fin and takes lots more effort to make the same movements. Not good, not bad; it is an individual preference. I went diving on a Saturday with a friend's pair of these and on Sunday with a pair of "floppier" oceanic viper fins. The oceanic pair made it easier to kick, but i didnt really go as far. When I kick hard, I want to MOVE. Most of the time I am just lightly finning along enjoying a leisurely pace, but sometimes the current or something else makes me want to really fly. That is why I chose these. I wear a men's 11 1/2 shoe, and with a size 11 3mm zip up bootie the XL fit just right and are not really snug. Another hopefully helpful tip: Bright fins make you easier to see in poor visibility.

they are excellent fins. the top part of the foot can get tired. they provide alot of power. I noticed they were much more effective when not bending the knees and kicking.

Another winner from Atomic.
I formally used the smoke on the water fins from Atomic. The foot pocket on these is not as flexible as the SOW fins, so keep that in mind when ordering. The fin itself has a fast response and great propulsion. I added spring straps which makes don/doff a breeze. The manueverability of these over the splits is amazing, esp. for a photographer.

I loved mine but my wife didn't
My wife loves these. We also bought the spring straps. I loved mine but my wife didn't. I would try them without the spring straps first to see how you like them.

Geniale Flossen

These are the best (SCUBA diver) fins I have tried since 1986.Great repulsive force but it requires corresponding efforts from the diver and hence he/she should have some training before extensive usage of the fins. Full correspondence with the manufacturer description.
