Premium Tailgate Seal for Your Truck Bed

I'm very happy with my purchase of Angry Elephant tail gate seal. It was easy to install and took approximately 20 minutes, and I had about a foot and a half left over after installing on my 2011 ford F-250. The directions that came with it were pretty good but for the top portion of my tailgate I went my own way.It seems to be a quality seal that is relatively less expensive than others, quick shipment through Amazon, and does what it is supposed to do if you clean the area properly before install on a warm day.

I bought this product because of the amount of dust that filter into the bed of my 2015 Super Duty Ford. I have a Bak-flip bed cover on it but the dust just pours in the tailgate. I installed the seal without any problem. I cleaned the dust and dirt off where the seal was to be installed and last thing I wiped it with alcohol. I did cut a 2in piece and tried it in different locations just so I would know where I would get the best seal. I would stick it on and close the tailgate to observe it from the inside closed position, and move it till I was satisfied with the location. My tailgate has different size gaps around it. One problem I ran into is that I have two big screw heads on the tailgate towards the bottom, right where the seal wants to be. I simply took a box cutter and make two vertical slices on the outside part of the seal so each screw heads would just push the seal down without pushing the weather-strip off the truck body. The product has been installed for about a week and a half and I have opened and closed the tailgate probably 60 times. No problem so far. There does get to be dirt and debris build up between the top part of the seal and the truck bed that will need to be cleaned out from time to time. I have not had the opportunity to dirt road test it yet but I’m confident that it will make a world of difference. When I do the drive through car wash I don’t get water in from the tailgate as far as I can tell. Also, the tailgate take a little more effort to get it to latch both sides. Sometimes when I don’t slam it hard enough the right side doesn’t latch. Other than that, if the adhesive holds up, I think we have a winner here.Thanks, Bill

Worked great.

Well made rubber seal worked perfectly on my 2017 Tundra. The seal fits snuggly between the tailgate and the bed. There was a little resistance to closing now. The instructions were clear giving two mounting options, and they provided enough material for testing pieces to be cut out, as well as allowing 45 degree cuts in the material to allow a 90 degree seal in the bottom corners of the tailgate opening. I have about 2 feet extra material left. It's working great so far.

My tonneau cover seals up the top of the bed very well so i purchased this tailgate seal in hopes that it would also. As it comes in the package the tape backing had come off in many places leaving the glue exposed to air and debris. I was going to exchange it but after looking at pictures online noticed they were all packaged similarly. After installing it per the directions i was pleased that about 90% of the tailgate was sealed. The remaining 10% could not be sealed with this kind of seal just due to the design of the truck. After only a few days of use i can see the glue is starting to let loose in multiple places. I was unsure of this product from the start and my suspicions were correct. I would not recommend this product. For reference i installed it on a 2015 GMC Seirra with a spray in bedliner. The bedliner definitely made it more difficult to install as i couldn't place the seal on to the bedlined areas. Maybe better luck could be had with no bed liner.

Order came in quick. The double sided tape is holding up the way it should. The seal made my tailgate nice and tight so no more rattle. Will know more on the first camping adventure. Would purchase again.

So far so good. Peeling in one area but will see if it gets worse l. Clean area well before application and take your time.

I am giving it 5 stars because the installation went very smoothly and looks nice both when the tail gate is open as well as closed. Of course the true test will come if the majority of moisture and dust is kept off of items in my truck bed with the tonneau cover fully closed. Their price was the best I found.Drove 200 miles of Forest roads after installing this product and the bed stayed remarkably clean as did the gear that was inside the pickup bed.
