This kit contains 2 bags of white sensory sand that you mix colorant and optional glitter into. It also has 2 storage containers and 2 plastic cutting tools. Mixing the colorant into the sand takes a couple minutes so wear gloves and do this in a tray to keep the mess down.This is similar in consistency to Kinetic sand, which we also have. The key difference between this ASMR sand and Kinetic sand is the particular sound that this sand makes when you cut into it. This ASMR sand makes a satisfying soft, scrunchy, crunchy sound that my son, daughter and I find soothing and peaceful. My hubby is indifferent to the sound. An ASMR reaction is a sensory stimulation experience triggered by soft, repetitive sounds. It creates a soothing, relaxing effect and can be very calming for certain people. Love this sand.

Not just for kids since I ordered this for myself. Yes, as an adult, I enjoy doing crafty and artsy things just like children do. Of course, it is geared more for kids, but this sand kit can relax you on a stressful day and bring some happiness to a very dull day. Just having this colorful sand in your hands makes you calm and relaxed. The colors and texture are pleasing to the senses, plus it comes with decorative tidbits to add in if you want.Included are two sand pouches, the colors, decorations, containers to store the sand, and two tools for designs. You get to color the sand yourself which is fun also. Plenty of direction comes in the pack and on the package to guide anyone of any age to succeeding with this fabulous product. it comes packaged so beautifully that if you give it as a gift, it probably does not even need to be wrapped. There are different colors of sand to collect in the series as well as various tool designs.The only problem I had with this sand is the texture or firmness of it when handling. This is not a fault of the product since in the instructions it tells you that it is best used in places with low humidity and lower temperatures for storing. I live in a hot and humid climate, so storing my sand in the refrigerator is necessary. If it is left out for long periods, it begins to not cling to itself and act like real sand. It is still fun and relaxing to use but just does not remain in one piece under these less than ideal conditions. This sand can be used many times over and over.I received this as a free product in exchange for my unbiased opinion to better guide future buyers with an honest review. I am quite pleased with this marvelous sand kit and I recommend it to anyone of any age that wants to destress or have some clean, simple, and colorful entertainment.

I have mixed feelings about this sand kit. I got it for my 8 year old, but ended up helping him mix the colors together and played with it with him.Pros:- it does have a very satisfying sound and feel when you play with the included toys with it; one of my favorite ASMR videos has sand and toys like this, so I have kind of a Pavlovian relaxation response to this sand as a result.- the colors are fairly vibrant, and it doesn't smell bad like some of these types of materials can.- the toys that come with are very good quality- small (definitely won't be taking them to the beach, they'd probably get lost) but the perfect size for tabletop play with kinetic sand.Cons:- I didn't like that we had to mix the colors ourselves. What's the point? Was it meant to make it seem like a craft? Or is it not shelf stable once the color is added, and I'm going to have an issue storing it with our slime and other sand toys? Whatever the reason, we both ended up having to scrub pigment off our hands and wipe it off the table (some of the color powder escaped the paper plate it was on during the mixing process) after assembly. I didn't expect sand to necessarily be a clean toy, but neither did I expect to be cleaning up hot pink and blue powder.- the sand feels pretty nice in your hands, but every time you play with it, you have to wash your hands after. The sand sticks to skin, leaving a lot of particles behind. My son's other indoor sand toy (kinetic sand in a little treasure chest from Walmart) doesn't do that, so that one is easier to play with and sees more use as a result.- this sand is kind of loose compared to our other one. It doesn't pack well into a shape, and honestly there's not a lot of each color. As a result, it's not really working to build little sand castles or anything with.I feel bad giving such a negative review, because when we first unboxed this my son and I were both excited about it. We even enjoyed playing with it, even we were both a bit annoyed having to mix it. But with the fact that it sticks to your hands and the fact that it doesn't really lend itself to typical sand play (making sand castles and stuff), I find this sand just sitting in the craft drawer. It hasn't become a go-to for hands on play, and that's kind of disappointing.

I didn't have the highest expectations for this because I got kinetic sand for my kid in the past and she's played with plenty of slime as well. This was more fun than just the regular kinetic sand because we could mix in the colors ourselves - oddly satisfying seeing the colors get mixed in. There's pink pigment and blue pigment - I would recommend mixing it on a surface that you can easily wipe up/wash afterwards. The sand feels super soft and nice. The two sand tools are nice - of course this isn't a lot of sand, so you can do minimal playing with it - you can't make a sand castle. BUT, it's easy to play with - my daughter enjoyed when we added the glitter into the mix too. I wasn't as excited because the thought of glitter getting everywhere wasn't too exciting. But she loved it, and it wasn't as messy as I expected since I only let her play with it on a tray and afterwards she used a wipe to clean her hands. Yes, pieces of glitter remain here and there, but not as bad as some glittery toys because these are at least the thicker glitter pieces that you can pull off (not those tiny glitter pieces that you can't remove for the life of you!). Fun experience for a fair price!

The box says for ages 6+ but I made this with my 2 year old, she loved it. I would suggest close supervision because it will make a mess. The sand, coloring and glitter come in separate little plastic packets. The box says to read the instructions but there were no instructions included. Turns out it's not that hard to figure out how to mix sand. When we first opened the coloring mix it seemed like way to much but after kneading it together a while the sand absorbed all the color. I was afraid the color might stain skin or the table but it cleaned up easily with water. The glitter does tend to come out of the mixture and get everywhere but that's what glitter does I guess. I don't really get the ASMR thing, it does make a small sound when you squish it, kinda sounds like walking on sand.
