Great wee life savers
There's other reviews on here that hit the nail on the head.I'm just going to add my experience with them.I bought these in anticipation of going for a long weekend camping so I could carry little water. The thing I noticed was how much the treated water tasted of chlorine; in the kind of situations these should be used in, that's neither here nor there. It's also worth noting that it's best to place the tablet in 2 litres of untreated water (as instructed) leave the lid of the bottle loose and give it a shake for 2-3 minutes prior to letting stand for 30 minutes that helped a little with the taste. Also, I made the mistake of filling my CamelBak with the untreated water and then adding the tablet. Don't do that. It tastes awful and I can't imagine it being very good/healthy for you or your water bladder. As for the five stars, I've used them from all throughout the weekend and my insides are very much still inside of me.The chlorine taste is a trivial thing to deal with. If you NEED to use these tablets then you're probably very desperate for clean water - the faint taste of chlorine isn't going to stop you.

Hope for the best and treat for the worst...
I have used these in at least seven different countries which I can't be bothered to list, but include Scandinavian waters (Elk's toilets upstream), Thailand (ditto but elephants), Central America (best place to get the freshest water is out of the toilet cistern) and others. So I use these and have never been sick, well, not from the water anyway, and you can use them in solution to wash veggies. They don't make the water taste like, well, wonderful, but then again, you're not on a wine-tasting mission; or perhaps you are! (The few people who didn't die of cholera during some serious outbreaks in history were brewery workers who only drank beer; yeast fermentation zaps bacteria and other micro-organisms). I even carry a couple of these when I'm in London! And you ain't going to get any cheaper. Buy them. I know the phrase 'Where is the toilet!' in eight languages but hope not to use it too often, so these help. PS: if you're in an area where there's a threat of giardia or cryptosporidium and some other protoplasmic nasties then it's best to boil the water; these organisms, during a phase in their life-cycle form tough cysts around them which protect them from stuff like chlorine or iodine. Boiling water is always the best, but if you can't get that done, well hope for the best and treat for the worst.

Fantastic value and very usrful item.
These tablets are great value, cheaper than I've previously seen them for. I live in Africa so I use these regularly. They have a horrid chlorine taste, but by adding the juice of one lime or an effervescent vitamin the taste soon disappear.

Did it's job.
Used it while doing WHW to purify river water.. Water tasted like chlorine as expected but it also gave me a dry feeling and more thirsty sensation which I found odd and it put me off using them and decided to drink the water un-purified.

Good product, works well
Took them to India ans Sri Lanka. Used them mainly for clean water to wash our teeth..etc it does smell of chlorine but i guess this is inevitable and better than putting filthy water in your mouth. If we did run out of water i would find ok to drink it too.We did not get sick once so I guess it did a good job

Fast delivery.
These tablets arrived the day after I placed my order. Wow, if all items arrived that quickly we would all be very happy.Quite a few people seem to be commenting on their treated water having a chlorine taste. As I understand it the water is supposed to taste like that, if it doesn't then you should treat the water again. If, after a second treatment the water still doesn't have a slight chlorine taste you should disgaurd it and find an alternative source. Has anyone else heard this?I will be buying these tablets again.
