A wonderful little blowtorch and more
I am pleasantly surprised at just how good this tool is, I was a bit concerned with a few reviews here but took a gamble and I am glad I did.Mostly I use a blowtorch for shrinking adhesive lined heat shrink tubing, and I have tried a few catalytic hot air guns without much in the way of great success so finally settled on a chefs blowtorch. Of course with a naked flame it is easy to overdo the heat and burn the tubing but the increased speed was of greater benefit than the safety of lesser catalytic guns.My intention was to just use this with naked flame in the same way or maybe with the flame extender, both of which work very well for my application. However on trying the catalytic heating accessory I found this to be even better! While the heat is not nearly as fierce as the naked flame it is quite sufficient to shrink the tubing and heat the glue liner reasonably fast and safe, but the heat stream is much more accurate so I cause less damage to the objects the tubing is being shrunk onto (feathers mostly)Another wonderful surprise was the ignition and safety latch. The description regarding this is not entirely accurate, while it can be operated using two hands you do NOT HAVE to use two hands as it it also designed for single handed operation. With the chefs blowtorch I wedged bits of card in the safety mechanism to render it ineffective - I want to be able to pick up the torch and operate it single handed as I have the work piece in the other hand. Well this tool provides the best of both worlds, the safety latch can be swung right over to the left with the thumb and it latches in place, you can now press the ignition button and ignite the burner all with a single handed operation. Once the ignition button is pressed the safety latch disengages and returns to the safe position so when you let go of the ignition button the unit returns to safe state. This may seem a minor point but I think it shows that a good deal of thought has gone into the design and for me at least is an absolutely fantastic feature. As for reviews saying that igniting the burner is troublesome, maybe they need to RTFM.. Operate the safety latch as detailed above and SLOWLY press the ignition button - I have started the thing over 50 times and it has failed to light ONCEOther reviews that concerned me said that the flame is not controllable enough, again this is not true in my experience. The flame length can be adjusted with the control on the right hand side, this adjusted the blue cone flame between about 3/4 inches and about 2 inches roughly which is more than enough for anything I need, you also have an easy to use air mixture control just behind the burner which you can easily change the air mix from non (yellow flame) to max which gives a pin sharp blue cone. The storage tin is a work of art in its own right with moulded compartments for all the accessories (wait till they have cooled down before packing away)This unit cost me roughly twice the price of the chefs blowtorch, but the difference in quality and control is worth much, much more than the difference in price. This tool just stinks of quality, as soon as you pick it up you can just tell right away it is a pukka tool. Dremel do have a reputation for making good quality gear and I can assure you this tool does nothing but re-enforce that reputation, it is a great bit of kit which I can thoroughly recommend.

Great adjustable pinpoint flame
Bought to use primary for my new hobby of silver smithing, read about the type of flame needed and this model seemed the best fit. The gas canister holds about 75ml of gas from any shop bought butane gas bottle and filled really easily. The ignition is really easy and the fact that you can lock it on is very good as well as being easy to use. The unit stand is good and secure, the various bits that come with it are ok, easy to mount and dismount. I would have liked to see an indicator showing the amount of fuel in the unit but hey! There are cheaper but to be honest you get what you pay for and this is worth the extra to me

Perfect for my beginner silver soldering needs
I couldn't find many reviews that specifically mentioned using this blowtorch to solder silver. It works perfectly and heats the silver solder easily, and can also melt regular silver well in a crucible. I have only filled it once since I got it around 3 weeks ago and its lasted through me using it every couple of days for small soldering jobs. After my cheap blowtorch suffered a catastrophic failure, I decided to spend a bit more on this one. I don't think I will ever use the other attachments, but as a straight up blowtorch it feels safe, sturdy and reliable. I like that it takes two steps to light, and a further step to lock in the "on" position. I'm hopeful this blowtorch will last me a long while.

Very good versatile blowtorch !
I had already bought and liked the Dremel gas soldering iron, so this was the obvious choice for a more powerful blowtorch. It comes on a nice tin to keep everything together and it is also easy to see if anything is missing from the tin.You do need to buy a 'gas for lighters refill' and I suggest that you don't buy a cheap make but something like Ronson, as cheaper gas ones do tend to smell unpleasant when burning. Some reviewers complain about the on/off/lock mechanism, but I consider this more of a safety feature than anything else and as it is the same on the soldering iron I have no problem with it at all, as it is second nature one you have used it once or twice and it is better than accidentally leaving the gas on until it is empty or children coming along and trying to light it.When lit, there are two adjustments : a small collar to adjust the air flow and a slider to adjust the the gas flow thus allowing really good control over the flame itself - from a nice blue to a cooler yellow. As I will mainly use this for silver soldering, some of the attachments I probably won't use, but you never know, better to have then all really.I have used this 4 times since I bought it, 3 times for solver soldering and once for soldering a 15 mm copper pipe joint, and have been really impressed with it.I put the base on it as soon as I get it out of the tin, this allows you to work with 2 hands instead of one, not to mention it won't fall over on the bench.I am sure I will be using it a lot more soon though as it has so many possible uses.It does feel well made and I think it will last a long time, but the fact that the cost is fairly low anyway, you don't get much like this for around £40 these days, I personally think it is a bargain.Another winner for Dremel.
