My wife does not read instructions!
My wife bought some solar lights (not these), shaped like light bulbs, we hung them up but nothing happened. She also immediately discarded the packaging and instructions, so we passed them onto our daughter, who immediately discovered the hidden on/ off switch and they are now glowing away in her garden! Anyway I felt a little sorry for my wife (even though she never reads instructions) and bought her a couple of these. I DID read the instructions and found that all that you need to do is: unscrew the lid, turn the on / off switch on, uncoil the wire with LED's on and artistically arrange in the jar, then replace the lid. Obviously they need to be placed where they get direct sunlight as much as possible; otherwise they won't charge up much (obviously). They are Mason jars (but not as we know them), but are only about the size of a coffee mug, for me this is no problem, as full size jars would weigh a ton and be somewhat intrusive. These can be easily hung on a substantial tree branch or other convenient sticky out thing that you can find. When illuminated they are yellow ish and look very nice. Obviously they are not going to light up like the Blackpool illuminations, but do give an interesting glow.

Pretty but mine don't last long on a solar charge
I bought two of these for my dog's memorial garden as the light is yellow and much softer than the usual harsh white solar lights. They're very pretty and do provide quite a lot of light, even more so if we didn't have a street light right outside our fence. They're also well made and the sensor definitely works as they were flickering while I was putting the lids on, and they come on at dusk. The only downside is that if there's not much sun, I'm lucky if they last an hour. I don't need them for lighting a path or anything so I don't mind too much, and I didn't want to keep using the battery for use all night.

Not waterproof
I bought 2 of these jars in August and they look really lovely when working properly but I have found that the connection can be a bit temperamental and the wires in the lid need to be completely straight otherwise the connection tends to flicker. Also, since this recent few weeks of rain I have discovered that the jars are not waterproof and the lids are getting rusty. After a few hours of rain about half an inch of rain collects in the bottom of the jar. Now that we are having dull days, the solar panels are not getting a full charge, which is the fault of the weather, not the jars, so they only light up for a couple of hours but in the Summer when they were getting a full charge they would light up for 5 - 6 hours. Think I’ll put them away until the Spring.

Small but pretty
It is really pretty but it is also very small so you would need several and at the price it would soon add up. That said, it has worked flawlessly so far and sometimes you get what you pay for. It has been hanging outside since it arrived and has been through wind and rain without any problems. The warm light, whilst not bright, does have a lovely glow and I do prefer it to some other lights I have tried which have a much whiter light. I just with the jar was a bit bigger but that’s just a personal preference.

Beautiful lights
I bought 2 of these lights to hang in my garden and they are beautiful and exactly as described. They're bright and really enhance the garden at night. I'm definitely buying more and would highly recommend these to everyone. Only thing which is a negative is the price - £10.98 per mason jar is real pricey so it isn't value for money.

Perfect, but smaller than I thought for the price.
Pretty when lit up

Stopped working after two months.
Really liked these. Easy to set up, very pretty. However bought two and they both failed on the same day after about two months of being solidly reliable. No idea why.

Good ambience
The reason I didn’t give 5* is because one of the two jars I bought let’s water in,but other than that they’re lovely in the garden at night
