Sturdy and durable toy.
Having three modes this does does plenty to keep little hands entertained. The buttons are big and bright and light up. As noted in other reviews, the volume is quite low. I personally don’t mind this, it’s better for tiny ear drums and also means it’s not annoyingly loud. Bought for our grandson, he’s been playing with it for over 12 months now and still loves playing with it. Only now it’s helping him learn too. I would buy this again, a,d would be happy to recommend it.

Phew -No more fear of inadvertent 999 calls being made!
My little grandson is magnetically attracted to telephones and remote controls. He can even press the button that locates the missing handset, trace it back to the hiding place, climb up and find it... So desperate measures were required to avoid the misuse of the emergency services. Especially now it also recognises 911 etc...The VTech Tiny Touch Phone was lying there ready in The Usual Place, a substitute for the handset he usually locks on to. Will he take the bait?Yes he did, and charming it was to see him carrying on a dear conversation with an unknown caller - this time safe in the knowledge he wasn't being a telephone pest. Everything about this phone is fun and bright, the varied sounds amused and entertained. The quietness of the songs and little messages, rings and purrs at a low noise level deemed essential for the safety of his tiny ears didn't detract, he took it as his own, it even went to bed with him. I suppose he thought he could ring me in the night for a bottle or a book.Perhaps I should be worried that he will be welded to his 'mobile' forever and when he's grown up he'll probably have a phone implanted in his brain but meanwhile I can tell you this telephone is the tops!

Wonderful baby gadget!
The VTech tiny touch phone is probably the best of its kind in the market. I had seen other models for a phone, but this one offers a lot more, rather than just blaring out the numbers. If your baby like mine just wants to grab hold of all the gadgets around - be it the remote, phone, laptop etc, then this little phone may turn her attention away from your playthings for a little while. It does all that the other reviewers have mentioned - seems very educational, bright and the flashing lights help too! There are different modes, like learning about numbers, shapes, conversations that add to the educational value of the toy and I am sure would grow with the baby. However, the main downside is the volume level which is strangely very low once the little strip at the back is removed. Mys olution was to just leave it in and put a strong layer of duct tape over it so that the baby can't tear it off. Once that stays in - it works like magic!

Great tip for the usless volume!
I could not moan about this product, as i was warned about the volume issues by other reviews and on the packaging. The volume is great in demo mode so it can be heard in a busy shop. But as soon as you take the plastic tag out from the battery section, it is ridiculously quiet! It is to do with some silly health and safety laws as they are worried too loud a toy might deafen children, even though it is no where near loud enough to do so by any stretch of the imagination! I had my tv on at a reasonably volume and when my son was playing with it, we could hardly hear it! Heres the tip! Luckily I hadn't yet thrown the tag away, so i pushed it back in to the battery section, cut the large part off and then poked it right in so it obviously couldn't come back out when being played with! Loads better and a great learning toy with a big variety of songs. My son loves it!

Nice and quiet
My kids got this at 6 months old, they're now 12 months, they loved this then and they love it now.It is quiet, very quiet actually, but this is by design to protect little ears (possibly more so because it's in the shape of a phone and they might hold it up to their ears..?)I'll add, it's very nice to have a quiet toy in amongst all the noise-makers!It's a bit fun and a bit educational (on one setting, pressing the green square will say "green square", or it'll say "can you find the red triangle?", that kind of thing).Anyway, they love it so I recommend it.

Amazing toy
Some reviewers said the sound is too low, I personally think it's what makes it great. Bought this toy as a gift to a friend who just had a baby as this you saved my life more than once when my daughter was a baby. It was her pram toy and now is in the car and at almost 4 she still plays with it - and the best part: We're still on the demo batteries!!!

spend your money on something else!
I got this toy for my sons 1st birthday. I bought it because it had such good reviews. However, we don't all have the same taste in babies' toys, so eventually I shall have to disagree with all those who claim it's brilliant.Firstly, it is made for age 12 months+, but the sound level is set to a level that complies with safety regulations for "close-to-the-ear" toys for children under 12 months. Which means you can hardly hear the sounds. My son doesn't hold the phone to his ear, he plays with the buttons and has the phone in front of him. And rarely plays with it because he can't hear it properly!!!Secondly, frankly, does a 12 month old child care what a triangle is? It's education and curriculum gone mad. My son seems very intelligent, and I am confident he will learn shapes and colours when time is right. I find it typically pretencious middleclass, to make these so-called educational toys for babies. After all, it is a very durable product, good quality, and the flashing lights are fine. I would just spend my money on something else.

Fun, colourful and liked by a baby
I bought this phone for my son when he was 9 months old and indeed he wasn't too interested in it. Since it's 12+ months toy my son started to pay interest in it from around 11 months old. now he presses all the buttons and puts it to his ear as with a real phone. There are lots of nice tunes, colour buttons and interaction. the toy is sturdy as it hit a floor quite a few times and remained intact. definitely money well spent.

Perfecto, volvería a comprarlo
