Fun and bright!
I think they’re a little pricey, but they’re fun and they’re bright. They are waterproof and relatively easy to install. I enjoy that this particular set of lights changes colors adding to the interest and fun. I ride with a bike group and half of us have these lights in addition to the front and tail lights on our bikes that we use when he gets dark. Fun Fun! Fun!

Great, if you get the real deal
I got these for my boyfriend. So I originally ordered these from Amazon marketplace and by comparing the box I got to the genuine box photos, it was pretty obvious that I received knockoffs. Amazon was really good about refunding my purchase after I complained. Unfortunately, it looks like these keep getting sold by a series of slightly sketchy importers, using shifting names, and I don't fully trust that anyone selling Wheel Brightz under this listing is selling the genuine article. So I bought a new set of Wheel Brightz from the manufacturer's website.I am super bad at mechanical stuff, but installation was OK. Maybe 15-20 minutes per wheel.I got the pink one, my boyfriend got the multi-color. They both look great. The multi-color version looks kind of ugly when you're stationary compared to the other, more uniform colors, but it's totally sick when you're actually on the bike in motion -- it's like having a little rainbow whipping around your rim. For thirty bucks you bring a lot of joy to the world -- we probably average one direct compliment for every 1-2 miles or so of biking, depending on pedestrian density (and I overhear a lot of people talking about the lights but not directly to us). Typical encounters: A little kid in Bernal Heights shouted "you have a cool bike!" from his front porch. A (probably slightly intoxicated) pedestrian in the Mission told my boyfriend he had the coolest bike in San Francisco and gave him a fist-bump. Another stranger shouted, "I like your Playa bike!" (this is not my Playa bike, although these lights would be perfect for Burning Man.) The lights are very bright and visible, although you still need to have standard front and rear lights, as the Wheel Brightz can't be seen from directly behind or in front of the bike.Update: A year later, I still haven't had to change the batteries! I have had to order one replacement power supply for my boyfriend's bike, though -- we hang our bikes vertically by the front wheel on wall-mounted hanging racks and over time, the power cord got caught between the wheel and the rack enough times that it frayed and wore through. (You can avoid this if you are reasonably careful when you hang up your bike and avoid crushing the power connector cable -- it just hadn't occurred to us that this would be a problem until the cable broke, so we didn't bother trying to avoid it.) More recently, a segment (about a quarter) of the lights on one of his wheels went out, although you can't tell when the bike is in motion. Again, this is probably caused by hanging the bike by the front wheel.Update II: I've gotten several more sets of these, and they're still great, but I notice that in some of the sets I've bought more recently, in the initial packaging, the battery pack is screwed on so tightly I've had to use an electric screwdriver to open it -- it would be nice if they could fix that and not over-tighten the screws!Update III: I recently brought a pair of these to Burning Man. I noticed on the Playa that of all the different lighting schemes people used for their bikes, Wheel Brightz were the brightest and most visible -- far better than EL wire or front and rear lights. If you are planning to go to Burning Man, I would recommend Wheel Brightz as an absolute must-have for your bike.

Nice
8/30/24Definitely stands out. I ended up getting a bag of 4 inch zip ties and did every other spoke. Then I reinforced the battery box straps as well because the other reviews are correct...you can tell by the feel of them that they may not last long. Lots of compliments so far🤙🏿

Straps broke. Both light ropes useless within 1 week
I got these for my bike at Burning Man in 2022. Loved the lights! So easy to install. The strap for attaching the battery pack was easy to use. The lights looked great. Yahoo. Went out for a ride.Unfortunately — the next morning when I looked at the bike, I found that the battery pack from the rear wheel was completely gone. It had completely fallen off the wheel. Lights were kaput.I used tape to reinforce the connection of the front wheel battery pack to the tire. That survived until almost the end of the week, when I noticed it fly off as I rode. Second set of lights useless.Admittedly the ground at Burning Man in 2022 was very washboard. Pretty much constant bouncing everywhere. I imagine that the bands were simply not up to that level of persistent jostling.Still after 10 days of use, less than 50 miles of riding, both lights are completely useless. Maybe these will work for gentle rides on smooth pavement, For anything harsher than that, they need serious help to keep the battery pack in place.I guess the best part of this story is that when the batter pack came loose, it broke the connecting wires and was flung away, rather than getting tangled in moving bike parts.I’d give this 5 stars for ease of use and coolness. But falling apart so fast - sorry, gotta give it 1 star.P.S. I see there are lots of complaints in recent reviews about the strap breaking. I wonder if the manufacturer changed the strap recently. Brightz, notice up!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Update 8/19/23 - About 4 days after posting my original review we received an email from Brightz saying they wanted to make things right, and offering a replacement set of lights. I love the lights, so said yes. We’ve installed these on the bike. I noticed that the band for the battery pack is different than last year’s - very stiff, and more difficult to install. We also zip tied the battery pack to the spokes. Will make it more difficult to change batteries, but they’ll probably last the week, and I’m not interested in risking the lights just to find out if the new band is stronger than the old one.Did learn one thing - it’s important to install the battery pack right-side-up, with the light wires coming out toward the rim. Duh. We got it upside down on the front wheel. The connecting cord isn’t long enough to reach to the rim in this case. See picture. So for now we’re set.Brightz definitely gets credit for quick response. Increasing from 1 star to 2 for good customer support. Will report back again after Burning Man. Fingers crossed.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Updated 9/13/23 Well, the good news is that with the addition of the zip ties, the lights and battery pack lasted all week. Sweet. As luck would have it, one night I noticed a piece of litter (i.e. “moop” - matter out of place) that turned out to be another WheelBrightz battery pack. This was Wednesday evening, when the playa was still very smooth. Looks like their battery pack strap still isn’t adequate.I’ve upgraded the rating to 4 stars - their customer service was good, I like the lights, and I’m OK adding zip ties. Not 5 stars because I still don’t trust their battery pack strap.

You need patience to put these on a bike
These lights work well enough, but they are a bit of a pain to put on the bike. My nephews put them on a bike and I noticed one had missed every other spoke - the other wheel had every spoke wrapped. I had to take them off the bike after they used them all week at Burning Man. The lights still worked, but it took me quite a while to get them off. They can look really great, despite the length of time it takes to put them on.

Muy esenciales y se ven increíble
Estás luces fueron para la bicicleta de mi hijo, él quedó encantado y los conocidos aún más. Me gusto aún más que son visibles a distancia lo que permite seguridad al transitar de noches en las calles.

Nice and bright
Had these for a few weeks. Very bright and great for riding at night. Will buy again for the back wheel.

... for added light in the evening and was quite happy with item
I have used this product on my bicycle for added light in the evening and was quite happy with item. The grand kids saw these lights on the grandparents bicycles and had to have a set. They work well are reliable and add a visibility factor in the evening darkness. This certainly enhances safety.

Cool idea, poorly executed
The idea is good and the lights like cool but it's poorly executed. Build quality is poor, and mounting 6 batteries to your wheel hub proves to be problematic due to centrifugal forces. Bought two sets, and one was dimmer than the other. Mind ended up in the bin after breaking from just a few rides.
