Toysmith Atom Kinetic Mobile

I bought this for a relative as a Christmas present. After previously being disappointed by similarly priced Netwon's cradles which lasted for all of 10 seconds, I wasn't expecting much. However, I am extremely pleased with the Atom Kinetic. I could watch it for hours and it works exactly as shown in the video (ref youtube).The toy is made of plastic supports and the moving parts are made of metal. To say that the toy is flimsy due to its cheap materials is completely irrelevant as it is a display toy - it's made to be looked at, not messed with.It's a fantastic toy and well worth the money. I looked for other 'perpetual' motion / kinetic toys and this was the best one I could find on the internet.- Put together in under a minute- Requires 1 PP3 battery- Uses magnet to keep metal pendulum swinging- No off switch- Very sturdy when the toy is in motionTl;dr cheap and does exactly what it says. No problems so far. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a really cool desk toy! I did notice however that over time it does stop whereas the advert claimed it never will (if the battery in it isn't empty). Either way, I recommend you buy one!

Novel. Interesting. Lots of shiny ball spins and rod rocking. Er ...but ...um ...worth over £20? Nah.Feels cheap. Looks cheap. But it ain't cheap.I'll just live and learn ...and give it to one of the grandkids for Christmas. Sigh.

Excellent and relaxing, absolutely silent and quite mesmerising, particularly if you place it where it throws a good shadow. The first battery I used only lasted a couple of weeks so I'm trying a better quality brand. If that doesn't improve the run-time I'll be cobbling together a transformer to run it.

Bought this having seen it on Doctor Who - took some tracking down and is expensive for what it is. However, it is truly fascinating and is a great desk toy - we both love it and it has received a great many compliments. It would be better if it had an on / off switch though, as you have to pull out the battery to disconnect it and stop the motion - which we don't want all the time.

Bought as a gift for a scientist friend. Didn't work from the get go. Gave the toy the benefit of the doubt, changed the battery numerous times, was as patient as anything, but refused to work. Not very durable, feels cheaply made. Do not waste your money.

Arrived earlier than expected and well packed with no damages. It says it non stop moves on it’s Own but it don’t it stops all the time. On a plus side once manually activated it’s a cute little toy and very mesmerising too watch. Overall happy customer.

This was a very nice decorative gadget. Works smoothly, may be not perfectly from the view of material quality, but in total, it is very attractive think to put in your house.

Schönes, gut verarbeitetes Mobile. Schneller Zusammenbau, Batterie eingelegt, ein kleiner Schubser und das Ding läuft.Preis/Leistung OK. Kann man weiterempfehlen.

Bought as a gift for my son, and it is actually better than anticipated. Takes one 9 volt battery, and this thing swings forever.Have to have it on a completely level surface or it will swing it's way and click a little bit, but that is normal. I recommend to be placed on a bookcase or shelf. Not really a play toy, just something to look at.

die apparatur kam sicher verpackt bei mir an.es lässt sich relativ schnell und einfach aufbauen, und funktioniert auch einwandfrei - sobald man eine batterie einlegt, die leider nicht im lieferumfang dabei war.einziger kritikpunkt: es lässt sich nicht ein- oder ausschalten. man muss jedesmal die batterie herausnehmen, was nicht grade einfach ist durch den clip an dem sie befestigt wird.dennoch macht es spaß dem gerät zuzusehen, hat durchaus auch eine beruhigende wirkung.

Folks that walk into my office get distracted by this but I enjoy putting people trap near my desk. There is another model which has fewer parts so it is more serene. This one might be perceived as a little frenetic.
