Pet Mesh . 1.2mt wide by SISI UK

Decided to get some much needed cool air into the bedroom without the risk of the cat getting out the window. Some brief research suggested that polyester material was ideal for this purpose. At the time of writing/purchase, two sellers were offering this item for sale, one nearly half the price of the other. So I went with that seller. However, upon receiving the item and inspecting it, it was much finer material than I'd expected (it was different to the image in the product page): it looked more like PVC coated fibreglass, which I didn't think would be up to the task of being resilient enough to scratching. So I placed a second order from the other seller (Trade Supplies-UK), and compared the two when it arrived. The more expensive listing is on the right. As you can see, it's thicker, heavier, and stronger. The material is different. So make sure you get what you ordered.

This mesh is not the black ‘tuff mesh’ polyester ‘pet mesh’ that I expected to receive.My cat only took a few months to completely demolish this mesh, and I had to go to Streme.co.uk to buy the type of ‘pet mesh’ that is used on pet carriers and is strong enough to not tear with cat claws.Other than this, this is wonderful, durable, tough, insect mesh. It is much thicker and considerably tougher than tulle fabric fly screen.If you do not need to prevent an energetic animal from escaping from this mesh, it is perfect.This particular mesh would never keep a determined animal from escaping. The ‘Tuff Mesh’ type of ‘Pet Mesh’ will keep dogs and even the most determined, climbing cat (several of them could hang on it, without tearing) from tearing out and escaping.

The mesh has been life saving this summer. Before we could never open any windows in the house as the cats would be out before we knew it. Not good when you live on a busy road. Just by cutting this mesh to the size of the window and sewing Velcro tape around it we are able to keep cats in and bugs out, an added bonus.

Cut mesh to the size of window (a bit larger than opening), stitched strong velcro around the edges of mesh with strong cotton (and stuck around window frame - velcro came with sticky side). We now can have the window open without fear of cat getting out. Doesn't hinder the view either.

This is a very good product. I purchased one sheet and I have to say I am back to purchase another to put on my kitchen window. I tried it with my living room window and now I can have it open without worrying about the cats jumping or any bugs getting in.My cats can now enjoy the fresh air and so can I. This mesh has eased my anxiety.Only criticism I would give is that it comes folded and I would have preferred it to come in a rolled form.

My initial impression is that this is quite strong and will do the job I want it to. Let fresh air in, while making sure the cats and kittens, don't jump or fall from my bedroom window. There is also the added bonus that it keeps bugs from entering my room through the window. Although they just find another way in. Ugh.It does not obscure the light, in fact it just looks like an open window until you get up close.Only time will tell how long this will last and how strong it truly is.If it doesn't live up to my expectations, I will update this review.It loses a star because I was going to buy more, but the postage went from £2 for 1 metre, to £6 for 2 metres and £8 for 3 metres. If anything the postage gets cheaper the more you buy. I do need another 2 metre piece for my son's room, I just refuse to pay £6 in P&P though, so I will find another way of doing it.

Very strong mesh!! I ordered 2 metres as my windows were to big for just one. Easy to cut and with the velcro they work perfectly (I just had to staple the velcro to the mesh as after a month of opening and closing the window, the velcro was coming out)Will re-buy when I will move from this flat. I finally can enjoy sitting on a sofa without worrying about my cat jumping out of the window!

Very flimsy material - probably wouldn’t be much use stopping a cat getting out of a window unfortunately. I had bought some of this a few years ago and it was much thicker and stronger and has done an excellent job. Sadly, this was completely different and much poorer quality. ( I thought I was re-ordering it but it is now a different seller). Would be fine if you are just wanting to keep flies out of the house but no use as ‘pet mesh’. It also doesn’t come with any fittings which seems a bit pointless!
