User friendly and effective
This is the second trail cam I own, there are multiple areas I want to watch but don’t want to move cam to new area and miss someone at the old one so I bought another!Setting up and controls are super easy. Turn on and adjust settings by switching to ‘test’, replay allows you to view images, menu gives you options. It’s very self explanatory, the buttons and options given are very clear but there is a guide book if you’re struggling. You can take a test pic with the shot button, useful to test potential positioning. Switch to ‘on’ when camera is in place and ready to go.You don’t need to set up sensitivity or IR distance like some cams so no experimenting needed and you don’t need to worry about missing animals because you’re on the wrong setting. That said, I did use my pets to help me get used to how it works. I don’t think that was necessary because it’s so simple to use. I found the sensitivity great, so far has picked up creatures small as mice! You can set the photo interval from 5 seconds up to 1 hour! That means it won’t take pics until this time has elapsed, saves you getting multiple pictures of the same animal. I set it to 5 seconds because I want pics of the same animals! You can also set the photo series as 1, 2 or 3 successive images/vids. I like using 3 (pictures) as often animals triggering the IR aren’t quite central or wholly in the shot, taking 3 pics in a row makes it more likely to get a pic of them closer or centrally. If using videos just stick to one unless the interval is quite long or you’ll just get too many.Sounds on videos is great! Picks up little bird tweets or them pecking feeder/cameraIt takes a SD card, not micro SD like I was expecting. Does say that in the listing so my fault for assuming. I used a micro SD to SD adaptor and it worked fine, the card is class 10 and 16gb.Getting pics off is just a matter of plugging camera into computer (cord is included). If you have a USB SD card reader or your computer has an SD slot its more convenient to just use that than remove and reattach whole camera whenever you want to transfer pics.Suiting my purpose of spying on wildlife brilliantly. Easy to use. Great sensitivity. Wonderful pictures, can't wait to see who else I'll catch! Really pleased!

Excellent!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Simple to set up, simple to use and superb results. I highly recommend this camera! Its my first attempt at capturing images and video of what lurks in the garden at night, and with a bit of thought and planning the results this has given me is far beyond what I expected.Make sure you remove the protection film from the camera lens and use decent batteries and you will be very pleased.

Great value camera for close up monitoring of wildlife in the garden
I wanted to confirm that I a hedgehog I had seen during day time was actually living in my garden. I saw this camera and though it fitted the bill. The photo quality is good with reasonable depth of field but my first trials with the video camera at night were a bit disappointing as the IR lamp has a very bright hot spot up to 1 metre in front of the camera. Beyond that the image is good.I am only interested in animals within a metre of the camera so decided to try an old trick and covered the IR lamp area with a bit of white plastic from a milk bottle - attached with sticky tape. It worked a treat! The plastic filter means I loose a bit of image clarity on the photos due to the reduced light available, but the animals at the feeding station are much better exposed. The images above show right to left the improvement of light levels. The plastic filter is applied to the left most photo only. On the videos the improvement is much more noticeable.I added a day light photo for info too. The camera is mounted to a post facing due south with does cause some flaring by sunlight on the video. So if you want to use the camera during the day make sure you angle is downwards a bit away from direct sunlight (and not into the reflective light from the water bowl beneath - doh!)The camera has been out four nights now in rainy UK weather and has held up well so far.Using a class 6 32 GB SD card is a little slow to respond initially., but generally works fine. Higher capacity cards WILL NOT work. - you just get a card error.I have set the camera to take one photo first on activation as this has the advantage of also recording ambient temperature and time of the image. Followed by 20 seconds of video at highest resolution. With an average of 4 - 5 periods of activity by the hedgehogs each night it used up under 2GB per night in storage. The camera does trigger due to movement of plants in windy condition so I have removed the main culprits from around the camera. Overall I am very please. Great value for money!October 2018 updateUnfortunately the camera has already developed a fault after only a few days outside. The combined video and photo option does not work any more. Only the video only setting gives results, but stops working too after changing the SD card. Need to repeat the setting up each time I swap cards. Very tedious. Such a pity as I rather like the product otherwise. Am awaiting the sellers response about arrangements for a replacement.Great customer service! Voucher for full cost of a replacement unit and don't need to return the faulty one. Thank you very much.
