Evostick Hard And Fast Super Glue Metal Epoxy Putty High Quality 50g

Used this to rebuild a plastic flow-control knob on our shower which had crumbled around the metal spindle due to heat and age.First tried rapid twin pack Araldite as I needed it to gel quickly to prevent it from flowing into the spindle bushing and jamming the control. Achieved this objective but it proved too soft even after warm curing for several hours and leaving overnight The rotational forces were too great and it broke up after a few days.Leaving the remnants in place to keep the bushing sealed off, I tried building up using slow cure (standard) twin pack Araldite which has proved successful on many jobs in the past. But even this priced too soft even after a warm cure overnight, and after a couple of weeks the edges of the spindle designed to prevent the knob from rotating on it ‘chewed’ their way into the Araldite and the knob came off proving I needed something even harder.That is when I came across this Evostik product whose metal filling appeared promising. Being a putty I was able to remove all the previous Araldite residue secure in the knowledge the putty would not creep into the spindle bushing. I then lightly sprayed all surfaces with silicone spray to prevent the knob from sticking to the spindle (it needs to be removable for other possible servicing needs) as I’d done for the two Araldites.I filled the knob with the mixed Evostik putty and pushed it home onto the spindle allowing excess putty to bleed out. through a small hole I’d drilled through the knob on the spindle axis.After leaving it overnight I put the shower to use the following morning. The knob gas remained a tight rigid fit on the spindle ever since, just as expected.I have no criticisms of the two Araldite products which I’ve used successfully for many years. Its just that in this instance a much harder product was needed. The Evostik metal filled putty was the right horse for this particular course. I’ll certainly add it to my armoury for the future.

I have bought this epoxy before and was really impressed with it so I got another as a 'just incase', very handy to have for my various projects. Recommended

Marvellous stuff! It goes hard in a very short space of time. Leave it overnight and it'll be like steel. It's a little fiddly because you don't have much time before it cures. Recommended

Only used once so far but mixed well and sets ultra hard. Just what I needed.

To repair lamp holder

Actually works.!! Used it to fix my mum metal dining chair led which had bent and the welded joint had split...!! Just as strong as it was ..!! Definitely recommend

I used this to fix a broken tap but it was rather messy and fiddly to work with and after a few weeks it broke again.
