Modern Guitar Method Grade 7 Spiral-bound – January 21, 2010

The title is somewhat misleading. It was written in the 40's and 50's so, Modern is very relative?That said, it is the BEST guitar music that I have ever found!Sure, every guitar training book has pretty much the same songs but Mel has the best arrangements in his music scores. His chords and chord changes are nothing less than beautiful! Mel did this series out of his love of playing the guitar. It is very thorough and complete.I really appreciate the new spiral binding versions so that they lay perfectly flat on my music stand!And you can download most of the actual audio so you can hear it before you play and then play along with it, from one of the tabs for each book at the official web site (but you will get better pricing for the books, here on Amazon!).I bought the entire set of all 7 books or grades as Mel named them. I got the expanded versions with spiral bindings (at least for all where they were offered?).I didn't need the beginning grades but they are still too much fun to skip over and I still enjoy playing the early tunes so I bought them all. My originals were literally my first lesson books in 1966 and the paper had deteriorated. The new books are on much better paper (I think printing technologies have improved?) and I'm pleased with the purchase.
