Hampshire Coffee Co Medium Roast Arabica Whole Beans, House Blend No 1, Great Taste Award Winner, 1kg Bag

I purchased a kilo of these beans a few weeks ago. I have waited a while to post a review to give me time to properly try them.Firstly, I am no coffee expert so I won't be posting comments like "subtle flavour of chocolate or hazelnuts etc" I have read things like this before but when I then taste them myself, I can't taste anything like that!Anyway back to these beans. I have bought several different brands and these are awesome. I can see why they have won an award. The aroma is the first thing, a beautiful coffee smell, not that freshly prepared fish smell you get from some brands.The coffee is full of flavour, I use an aeropress and have prepared americano, espresso and with frothy milk. The drinks were perfect for me, Strong enough to taste but not bitter. The taste wasn't compromised in a cappuccino or latte, although I did grind it a notch finer for the espresso and latte'sI would say that if you are looking for really strong coffee this blend probably isn't for you also I can't comment on crema as you just don't get it from aeropress.That said This blend is perfect for me and I will definitely buy it again.Would I stick my neck out and recommend it?...Yes, I definitely would.

I usually drink single origin but decided to give this a try due to the excellent reviews. Well it looks like I'm now joining the masses, as I have to agree this is an excellent everyday coffee.Not overly complex but very smooth and flavoursome, especially when used through an aeropress. As a side note, I would always recommend letting the kettle settle for a few minutes after boiling before pouring into coffee to avoid ruining the flavour.Overall this is a very good coffee at a fair price. Buy yourself a bag and give it a try!

I love my fresh brewed coffee in the morning and this is a lovely blend. The aroma that is created when these beans are ground and brewing fills the air and smells beautiful.

This coffee has "Great Taste" on the package. And those 2 little words are an understatement! I absolutely love the taste! I've been a coffee lover for many years and I have experimented with different coffees from various retailers. In all those years I have only managed to mix a blend that I really enjoyed on one occasion. The problem for me was that in my eagerness to enjoy the coffee, I forgot which 2 coffees I had blended.I waited a few days to try this coffee because I wanted to get a Vacuum sealer and bags in order that I didn't waste any of the 1kg of beans once opened. The wait was worth it! This really tastes good and they have every right to put "Great Taste" and more on the label.This is a highly enjoyable and gorgeous tasting coffee and I mean to savour every single bean. I at last have a supplier that I am able to order a brilliant tasting coffee from, knowing that never again will I need to experiment to find a blend I like. That, I have at last found!

Used to love this and had it as a regular monthly delivery, but the last couple have been dried out and lousy. The beans used to arrive with a fresh oiliness on them and when opening the bag, the wonderful scent filled the room. Now, it’s like the beans have been sitting on a shelf forever. The quality has definitely dropped but the price not so. Worst of all, I’ve recommended these to several other people and in recent discussions have learnt that they too feel this way about recent stock.The beans have now been removed from my monthly subscription and I’ve reverted to my previous brand. If anyone has any new recommendations, feel free to let me know.

These beans are one of three roasts that we currently have in the kitchen. It's not taken top spot, but it's easily moved ahead of mass produced Italian brand that now languishes in bottom spot (and won't be replaced) as out previous best coffee for times when the expensive stuff stayed in the bag.At the price of the Hampshire Blend No 1 it's going to become our everyday drinking coffee - it just has a nice flavour, holds the milk well for the wife's cup, and isn't too strong. It's a good middle of the road, balanced bean.

I live in Hampshire myself so was naturally curious to try this - plus I do think the great taste is a good mark of quality. These are a fair amount more than my usual supermarket beans, so they had to be pretty special to justify the price - and wow they are. Great crema layer. It's an allround coffee - although I like it most medium cup with a tiny dash of milk - but not too much. The flavor is great - but not really powerful as to put off those who perhaps do not love coffee so much. Would recommend to any coffee drinker.
