Turn the TV into a media display for your iPad/iPhone
This looks pricey for what it is but it effectively allow you to use your iPhone or iPad as an input device for your TV.Having read reviews of other non Apple connectors I was surprised by two things:I was able to stream an online (YouTube) opera from iPad to my TV inc sound. Netflix also works. My iPad screen wasn’t rendered properly on screen - the ratio can only be modified slightly. The first surprise means I think this was well worth the money as now I’ve a simple way to watch what I want via the larger screen regardless of the source. If it’s available on my iPad, I can show it on TV.The second surprise means that it’s not viable to use the TV as a large monitor. I’m told that not all TVs suffer this issue and that my iPhone will behave better. Not tried that yet.Only niggle, colour on TV was too warm (red/orange) and I couldn’t correct for it without changing the TV settings.Top Tips: consider a long DVD cable if your TV isn’t close at hand and remember to plug the power cable into the lightning port on the adapter as the iPad screen stays on, quickly draining battery.

Conflict with Amazon Prime App.
Amazon Prime App. playback issue? FYI. for others future benefit. Good product, expensive, but works as advertised. Feel a bit bad for marking this down to a 4 Star as it was not the products issue. I had some initial problems. Purchased this adapter to transfer films from my iPhone/IPad to watch off line through an HDMI Cable onto an old TV when no WIFI available, for when I'm on a boat or in a hotel room on business. Initially everything worked (Photos, Video, You Tube ETC) and all played except Amazon Prime. The issue, film played with no problem (sound and picture) on the iPad but would not mirror onto the TV. I had sound only and no picture. I initially assumed it was an Amazon restricted content sharing issue but, having searched the net, found there were reports from others of an issue between Apple IOS updates and the Amazon Prime App. The FIX. Should you have this issue, Delete the Amazon Prime App. Update your iPhone/Ipad to the latest IOS Update and then re-install the Amazon Prime App. Having done this all now works perfectly for me. I can download and watch my films/TV shows etc offline on a big screen. Hope this helps someone in the future.

An easy way to connect your iphone/iPad devices to a HDMI TV
PROS• Plug and play - Just connect the adapter and you can easily connect to your TV. An indicator appears in iOS so you know that it has properly connected.• Works with most apps - including media apps, productivity apps (e.g. Pages, numbers, keynote) and web browsers.• Small, light and compact.• Has a separate port to connect a charger. Great if your device is low on power (charger not included)CONS• Doesn't work with all apps. Some apps like SkyGo won't output video. A message appears on the TV to say this is not allowed.OTHERAlthough you can use with productivity apps (e.g. Pages, numbers, keynote), these don’t make use of the TV resolution. Instead the image is scaled up to fit the TV. It still looks good, and is ideal for making presentations, but it's not like connecting a computer to a larger monitor where you have more screen space to move around.

Perfect
Bought this instead of a Apple TV 4KWasn’t disappointedThought this only outputs 1080p, as long as the content you put on is actually 1080p and you have a good 1080p or 4K panel display then the content is good enough tooAs it’s direct connection and not wireless, no lag and loading timesI was reluctant at first as I had mixed reviews about it screen sharing YouTube, Prime, Netflix or Disney or other streaming appsBut it worked perfectly with subtitles too, but BBC iPlayer didn’t work for meOnly 2 down side is the price, £50 is too expensive for this, but at least I saved £100 compared to the Apple TV. And the fact that you have to place your phone near the tv or monitor because of HDMI

Great alternative to unreliable Apple mirror system
Wanted to get my Zwift app on my iPhone 11 onto a bigger screen. Screen mirroring kept failing during my training sessions. This hook up took a couple of minutes to be recognised by my Samsung TV (HDMI). Works well without any freezing. Only downside is the usual incredibly high Apple price tag, but there seems to be no other alternative available

Great device and worth paying the premium to get something that does what it’s supposed to...
After being conned on eBay with a counterfeit item in an authentic box I purchased this to use with my iPhone 12 Pro and the Apple Fitness + app on my TV. The device works flawlessly. Simply connect the adaptor to the HDMI Cable and then plug into the phone (in my case) or iPad and whatever is on the devices screen is displayed on the TV/Monitor. Although this works fantastically, for what I needed it for Apple have implemented some sort of copy protection with Apple Fitness + and you can’t project the workouts onto any other screen. The interface and sounds work but as soon as the work out counts down to zero the tv goes blank and the sound continues through the TV but the video remains on the iPhone/iPad. I could see using this to watch movies/tv shows/ Netflix on a tv from your phone whilst away on holidays/camping. Using it to project the screen/work (presentations, drawings, plans) onto a big screen instead of buying and using a computer to transfer it.

Easily connects an iPad/ iPhone to your TV.
I purchased this solely to watch my iTunes films and TV content on my TV. Bought a cheap HDMI (Amazon Basics) cable to go with it. Plug the adapter into the Lightning port in your Apple device, plug in HDMI lead into the end of adapter and plug other end into TV, select correct HDMI source on your TV and hey presto the screen image from your Apple device appears on your TV.I play my TV and film content straight from my iPad, it appears perfectly well on my TV with little or no loss of picture quality or sound. It's a marvellous piece of kit.I haven't tried any other apps like Netflix, Sky Go, Prime etc but I gather some content doesn't work, so just be careful what you are buying this for. I only use it for ITunes content and it works perfectly well and is a low cost alternative to buying the expensive Apple TV plug in box.
