Handmade Leather Bags & Accessories: 5036 (Design Originals)

The book is a delight to read and browse through. There are lots of ideas for bags and other accessories. However, there is no instruction on how to sew leather, either by hand or machine. I am a fairly experienced bag maker but I have never worked with leather. The double page spread on tools gives you no idea of how/when to use them. This is not a book for a beginner. You will need to have done some basic sewing/bag making to understand how some of the designs are assembled. I will have to do some research on sewing techniques first, but I will definitely use the ideas and patterns in this book, once I know what I am doing.

A nicely presented book full of good ideas ranging from simple to quite complicated.You do need to know how to sew, so its not for a complete beginner, but the step-by-step illustrations are clear and easy enough to follow.The pattern pieces are clear, full size, and are in a handy envelope fastened inside the back of the book so you are less likely to lose them.I've never done leather-work before and I'm really pleased with my results.

Useful for ideas, but not a particularly helpful book for the beginner. A good set of patterns in the back, but this is largely a book showing what the author has made with some pictorial instructions in the back part of the book.

This book has some good designs and is easy to follow. There are some paper patterns in the back that one can use or adapt. The designs are fairly modern and not at all stuffy. I adapted the plans to make a tote bag...nothing wrong with the plans given but I just wanted to change the size a bit.I have several leather craft books and this is certainly one that I refer to a lot.

Great book. Good ideas. It would be nice to have more detailed description and better pictures how to make each item using a surtain tool. Also, in the process of sewing I had to jump from the page for eg. 62 with my project picture to instruction page 104. The benefit of this book is full-size patterns.

Lovely book, just what I wanted however, delivery not within time frame supplied.

Very useful book of leather work projects.

Not a book for a complete beginner - it has the pattern and most basic instructions so you need to already know what to do, but on that basis it was just what I wanted
