The Ultimate Rock Guitarist - Lindo Beginner Electric Guitar DVD Lessons

The problem with learning from DVD is you’ve obviously gotta stop it/ pause it in parts to get the right instruction from where your fingers are meant to be fingering.He explains notes to a song to learn/play but he doesn’t explain easily how to change from one chord to another so being a beginner your playing one chord and find your whole hand moving off the guitar to play another chord and so on when you should be sliding in and out of chords smoothly.I guess with some practice in time you’ll eventually get there it’s a bit frustrating to try and play and watch but it’s very informative.

I enjoyed this DVD for after my 20 year sabbatical from trying to learn the guitar. Goes through an easy sequence of major chords, minor chords, power chords, scales etc, with songs to play in each lesson. Just remember to practice between the lessons rather than watching it all straight through. A little bit more on the scales and improv in the last lesson would have been good, and I didn't love the reference to various figuring patterns instead of just referring to the chords themselves. Worth the money.

Bought this as a beginner guitarist. Although I would say it is more geared for those who have already got the fundamental basics I would advise that by following this from the start and not skip any sections you will find it informative and relatively easy to follow. The bonus being that you learn some great tunes faily quickly too!

As this was a gift for someone else and not for my own use I have rated this based purely on their feedback.Great for beginners, very happy with what this offers in my first steps towards playing the guitar.

Being on my first steps in learning the electric guitar, I have found this course as an excellent introduction to it. The videos do not only cover the basic techniques but also a lot of advice on how to achieve a better sound and to my surprise. Quite a few well known riffs are provided to keep you engaged with your lessons.An very good option and definitely a value for money purchase from Lindo.Now awaiting the second (Improver) dvd....

Like quick sessions of simple methods

Whilst the lessons on the DVD seem pretty good and reasonable to follow, this isn't a complete course. As others have commented, the pace is too fast for learning and without any written support, it's sometimes hard to follow. OK as a supplement to other, booklet based, tutorial courses.

I have been playing guitar for 12 months and have a basic knowledge of chords and scales. The thing I struggle with is strumming patterns and this DVD has helped me understand better. The teaching is clear and simple to understand. I have only done the first two sessions as I think to be thorough if I do too much I forget everything!! So far it has helped a lot
