*Fan*tastic! =)
Hi, I shall start off by explaining why I bought this fan. When I ordered myself a custom built computer from an amazing place called Computer Planet, the description of the case that I had chosen highlighted the fact that 2 case fans would be included, an 80mm and a 120mm. only the 80mm was included, and Computer Planet were extremely quick to fix the issue by sending me, free of charge, one of these case fans. Before I installed the fan the heatsink at the time was making alot of noise, a little like sitting in a car at the lights listening to the engine tick over. It was obviously due to the fan on the heatsink speeding up as the CPU got hotter. But immediately after installing this fan, there was an immediate drop in noise, as this fan was obviously keeping the inside of the case cooler. This is why I have ordered another 2 of these fans, for a VERY reasonable price.I have already received one of the 2, and am currently awaiting the other through the post. The fans do not make an excessive amount of noise, but it might be a tad annoying for some people, but shortly after installing the first fan I purchased a fan controller, also off Amazon (Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005GNP6W8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00) which is cheap, but can accommodate 3 fans and is good value for money. Good quality too. I have the controller set for about 60-70% of the fans max RPM at the minute, and there are no problems with cooling, and the noise is reduced dramatically. I urge those who are purchasing two or more of these fans to invest in a fan controller. The build quality is excellent, but one downside is there are no screw threads in the holes. I'm not sure how everyone else does it, but I just took one of the 4 screws supplied and screwed it through the holed a few times to put the thread in. No hard task. The blue LED's look fantastic, and compliment the colour scheme of my PC. they are bright, but not overwhelmingly so.To sum up, These are excellent fans from an excellent company, and are invaluable for my system, as I do lots of gaming, college work, and some mediocre CAD work, and they cool my system nicely.PROS:Good qualityGood makeLED's look goodIncludes a molex (4 Pin) adapter if you have any molex sockets spareCONS:No threads in holesA little too noisy without a fan controllerShort leads (however, as stated above, there is a sizeable molex lead included)Just for those who are interested, these are my PC specs:CPU - AMD FX-8120 (8 core 3.1GHz)RAM - 16Gb Corsair Vengeance 1600MHzGPU - EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 550-Ti 2GbMotherboard - Asus M5A78L-MPSU - Corsair CX 600 600WattWireless - Edimax Wireless LAN 300MbpsHDD - 1 TB (1000 GB) SATA-III HDD 7200 RPM 32MBSSD - OCZ AGT3-25SAT3-60G Agility 3 60GB SATA IIII hope you found this review helpful

Fairly Loud, but keeps it very cool!
Fairly Loud, but keeps it very cool!I bought this to cool my computer down a little more. There was no specific thing to cool, I just wanted the PC in general cooler.I was surprised to find my CPU at 6C, which it used to sit at when i got the PC a year ago. Because of age and/or dust, the processor now runs fairly slower and has dust underneath the heatsink fan, and i can't really get it off (or can't be bothered, one of the two....) But to my surprise, the fan actually cooled the processor a lot and games now run without the occasional lag. This happened mostly on Saints Row, which is strange considering Battlefield 3 runs without it, compared to Saints Row 2. The fan removed the lag entirely from Saints Row, which makes playing the new Gat Out of Hell a blast! The lag I used to get was running in slow motion occasionally, and when the CPU usage restored itself to 50-60%, the game would suddenly run in "fast motion" to catch up.Overall, the fan is great, and runs very well. It sounds like a jet engine starting up and shutting down, the classic pitch drop, but it's not too loud to put up with. I'd rather trade the lag for a little more sound. If your computer really doesn't need the cooling that drastically, don't go for the fan as the noise probably won't be worth the benefits for you. There again though, if the PC needs cooling that drastically, i wouldn't recommend the fan as if it was that necessary, you should probably invest in more expensive cooling options. For a cheap, effective fan though for dropping general temperatures quite a bit, this fan works great. Finally, for those that want to know about the price, the £6.98 i paid for it is well worth it. The fan works as great, if not greater, than some of the fans for nearly £20! According to Amazon, the RRP for this fan is £40.04, and you save £33.06 (83%). This fan doesn't seem anywhere near worth that £40, making me question if that's true, but if it is, then great, the sale makes the fan worth what it should be.

Very good airflow, poor sound.
As the title says this case fan is very good at the job it is designed to do. The fan provides good cooling potential if placed correctly and has reduced my case temperature by about 5C (although some of this may be due to the drop in temperature we have seen in the UK during January). However, the fan is quite loud. When I boot the PC, vibration can be heard for the first second or so as the fan gets up to speed which is a little annoying but ceases when at higher RPM. If you are wearing a headset (I'm using the Corsair HS30), then you probably won't hear any difference, but without one the noise increase is noticeable. I have moved this fan around several mounting points in my case to see if it was caused by other fans blowing air onto this fan but little difference was heard. On a positive note, the blue LEDs are a very nice shade and are sufficiently bright without becoming overpowering. They suit very well with the other blue LED case fans I have which were pre-installed into a Zalman Z9 and also the blue power phase LEDs on the MSI 990FX-GD55 motherboard I have. All in all, the fan is very good if you wish to improve cooling solely and give a more flashy appearance to your system. If a quite and cool system is desired more then I suggest you look at some of the fans Corsair have to offer.
