Some reviews talk about the flavour like it's totally different to normal green tea. It isn't. BUT it is like a super intense, rich, amazing, nourishing version of it!I hadn't tried macha before. I've always liked green tea, and had read about the health benefits of macha, so thought I'd give it a try.If you like green tea, you'll love this. It doesn't have that drying, tannic, bitterness that green tea can have if it's steeped too long, but the flavour itself is very similar. I brewed it as instructed on the can, and shook in a cocktail shaker to mix and make frothy (as someone else had suggested) If you just pour in water and stir you're in for an unappetising cup of green with some floaters in. Mix it up!The effects were amazing. Alertness without jitters, yet also calming. It literally feels like an injection of goodness.I thought it was a touch pricy, but you're only 'supposed' to have one or two a day, so it will go a long way. That is until I mix some with honey and slather it all over my face...that's epic, apparently!

I am by no means a matcha expert but this is some of the highest quality matcha I have had.I bought this to try alongside another, slightly cheaper, brand to see if I could tell the difference and whether it was worth paying the extra for this one.The difference is night and day! The colour of this matcha is a much deeper green and smells fresh with no off odours whereas the other brand has a lighter colour and almost has a faint fishy smell in the jar.I don’t have the best palette so won’t go into what I taste in the cup but I 100% prefer the taste of this matcha over the other I bought and others I have tried.If you are into your matcha and haven’t tried this one or if you are thinking of trying matcha I would definitely recommend trying this as the difference in taste between this and some cheaper brands is surprising!

Why, why, why do people write reviews about a food product and spend most of their review about the packaging (which is in the product description) and all but ignore the important part - what it tastes like! Even worse in this case - comparing it to another beverage e.g. coffeeThis is one of the better Matcha teas I have tasted over the years. Opening the container you are greeted with the delicate aroma of fresh cut grass and the tea itself is bright green in colour indicative of young leaves being used and prepared properly.Preparing the tea it I found that it whisks easily and produces the bubbles and small amount of froth as it should.As to taste, it has a smooth and creamy and maybe slightly bittersweet. Sometimes with Matcha teas you get a very bitter astringent aftertaste, especially with the cheaper Matchas, fortunately that is not present with this tea.Enjoy this tea!

This is my first time buying matcha tea, and i went with this brand because i wanted to get a good quality brand and the price seemed better than others. It does definitely give you an energy boost, I always feel more alert after drinking the tea. It is bitter tasting but that's to be expected from a green tea. I added it to my smoothie today which I think had the same effect, it felt a bit less faffy adding it to my daily smoothie as you don't need to worry about how hot the water is and using a mini frother to whisk and then downing a bitter tea. So I might try a cheaper brand next time instead of this ceremonial grade to see if it has the same effect on my energy. Overall, I would recommend as it is of good quality and ok price considering, and arrived next day.Update - I've decided to upgrade my review from 4 to 5 stars. I came home today with the kids and I was feeling tired, drained and just a bit icky feeling - probably from the thought of having to tidy up, do the dishes then make the dinner - anyway it occurred to me that a matcha tea might do the trick. And it did. A few minutes after making the tea I felt much better. Clearer headed, more alert, I wasn't tired anymore, definitely didn't feel icky anymore. It just squares you right up. Coffee has never really done this for me, it usually leaves me with an energy slump. So for that I am giving this 5 stars and will definitely be buying again. It is pricey but I'm only going to use it when I need it, and because it only requires a teaspoon, it should last a while. I definitely notice the beneficial effects when made in tea form as a pose to in a smoothie. Highly recommended :)

Apart from being a more vibrant colour than 2 previous ceremonial green teas I’ve had it a actually doesn’t taste any better and it’s quite lumpy and had to sieve it to overcome little lumps in the drink. Considering the quantity you get and the price of it won’t be buying again . It’s almost double the price and 1/4 of the quantity of others I’ve had .

I have been ordering matcha lattes more often at cafes lately and decided to try making them at home. This makes a fantastic latte! Also turns out it is easier than I thought and a lot of fun. My wife enjoys it without milk, it's a nice bright green colour and has great flavour. We will be buying this one again

I was looking for a matcha that I could drink all by itself with maybe a touch of sugar. This one is pretty damn good by my standards. It tastes clean and not bitter, which was surprising to me because I have tried different types by this brand, and all but this one needs some type of milk. They're all a bit pricey, but if you're going to spend on this brand and want to enjoy a cup of matcha without all the milk, this one is very good.

Midori Matchaoulva is very effective. I love it and will always buy it. It's affordable and and after a two weeks I noticed a great change in my body especially my belly. I love it

I was excited to try this matcha after some high reviews, however I was sadly disappointed. The colour was a yellow green and very bitter to drink as a tea. This is not a quality ceremonial matcha, probably best for cooking with. Will stick with my usual brand Greenwild.
