psychics are my heroes!!
I LUV Lisa, i've got her other book 'Survival of The Soul' .I LOVE books like these ~ these psychics are my heroes!!They're so brave to tell their *personal* stories -- even back in the day when it was less (well-) received!I also loved 'The Reluctant Psychic' + Theresa Caputo's books are SO Great ('You Can't Make This Stuff Up!'), plus these ladies' tv shows ROCK! + of course, James Van Praagh is only getting better with age !! (read: 'Growing Up In Heaven' {i shld've had more tissues ! })You'll laugh, you'll cry !You'll be informed about the confusion of dealing with Spirit, + the rewards of knowing we are loved Forever....................Lisa is so easy to relate to, not afraid to share ('do you want to know everything?' !),and loveably enthusiastic. She shows reverence for the spirits with whom she works. We walk through her life as she learns the ins&outs of spirit channeling, as well as being a natural psychic, tarot cards, Reiki, crystals -- Whew! Not to mention her hit TV show! (she has another one too, i believe...)We go through her illnesses and NDE experience, single motherhood, wild dating, new friends, new homes, and how she reconciles religion with her mediumship/spirit world.Reading it was like coming to know a friend, going through self-renewal, overcoming fears + relationship issues, failing/succeeding,She also gets into her ideas on reincarnation, 'evil' entities, and nuances on the afterlife, but if you want to know more in depth (about where we go/what we do when we 'pass on'), you need to read her 'Survival of The Soul' *Watch my heroes on Youtube!!

Genuine with a rare talent.
With so many New Age authors boasting about their enlightenment and publishing tomes about their wonderful and miraculous lives, it is so refreshing to find this book. There are some people who radiate sincerity and warmth. If you have ever seen Lisa Williams on Lifetime you probably agree that she is one of those special souls. Her small book is not the boastful biography of a superstar psychic. It is the story of a gregarious young girl's path to womanhood; a journey plagued by the same problems and insecurities that many women encounter. It is also the story of the gift she inherited from her beloved grandmother. The only part of the book that seemed to be lacking was the section where she speaks about her relationship with Merv Griffin. He was instrumental in promoting her talents and she talks candidly about the fact that at first she did not even know who he was. She then goes on to speak briefly about what appears to have been a friendship between them. Certainly he would have sought out her talents in his last days and it would have been interesting to know more about how she helped him come to terms with his death. At the same time you have to admire her for respecting his privacy. Many people would have sensationalized their role in his very private life. You get the feeling that she isn't someone who needs a great deal of money or would value a lucretive revelation above someone's feelings. She even passes on messages from spirits on her website for free. I'll venture to say that Lisa Williams is more than a former Lifetime TV personality. She is the genuine article, a psychic who respects people and wants to dedicate her life to helping them.

An interesting look into the life of a talented lady
One of my dear friends told me to turn on the TV to see someone amazing, and it turned out to be Lisa Williams. She had a show on the Lifetime Channel that featured her giving readings for people who wanted to contact spirit - and also she did 'housecalls' to homes with spirit activity. It was fascinating as it not only showed us how sessions were done, but let us into Lisa's life. The 3rd season was not picked up by Lifetime. And that is a shame -Lisa Williams wrote her biography, Life Among the Dead, and it is a refreshing look at the woman behind the metaphysical person. She gives a frank detailed look at her life, and how her gift was cultivated. Her grandmother was a famous psychic/medium, and she certainly inherited that gift.It also goes into detail how she and her family came to America. Merv Griffin, who was a spiritual man, was instrumental in the show. Her validation to Griffin that she was the real deal was amazing.Ms. Williams also does Reiki healing and her healings have been verified in her book. I also am familiar with Reiki and am glad she put this information in the book. There is little of the 'teaching' aspect in this book. Sometimes when you read something authored by a psychic/medium, they include little tidbits on how to meditate, or some insight into the metaphysical. While Ms. Williams does show us the various spiritual happenings, the only mention of 'the Other Side' is at the end, and that is an explanation of what happens when we 'cross over'. Whether or not you agree with her interpretation, if you are interested in expanding your knowledge, you will probably greatly enjoy this book. One hopes that Ms. Williams will continue her path on the metaphysical. She is delightful and a gifted lady. You will enjoy this book.I'm sure Merv Griffin is proud.

life among the dead
I have seen Lisa Williams on tv and have enjoyed her programs. So while i was shopping in town i had a look at her books and came across "Life amnong the dead" and it looked interesting, so i had a look on amazon and i bought it. I have enjoyed the book very much and would recomend it to any one who has an interest in the after life. It is the story of her life and how she uses the special gift that she has to help people who have lost an loved one comunicate with each other.

Life among the dead
Very nicely written, an d Lisa sounds a lovely person, but the book never answered my questions regarding the 'other side', and was more her life story.Perhaps if I was to meet Lisa, I would hear what I need to hear. I feel though, that she is more sincere than many so called mediums etc.

Life and beginnings of a great Medium
It was a lovely read, filled with personal stories most mediums and spiritual teachers would be reluctant to share. I really enjoyed reading her story and find myself getting excited for her as the book evolved. You can also see the development of a medium; how she started with her natural intuitive insights, started giving psychic readings and eventually discovered her mediumship ability.
