Looks more on the brown side than orange

I rarely bother to paint my fingernails at all, as the polish never seems to last longer than 24 hours without getting chipped, dented or ruined in some way. I don’t like not being able to do anything with my hands for the ~1 hour it takes to apply a base coat, wait, apply 2 layers of the main polish and wait, and then finally a top coat, then wait ~15 minutes – 45 minutes to let everything set before doing anything. It’s not worth the time investment imo. I wash my hands frequently, am constantly working with my hands, and generally not pampering my fingers in any way that would allow a manicure to last longer than 1 – 2 days at best. This polish is awesome for summer toes though! I love the bright, fun color and it goes on like a dream. 2 thin layers gives a really nice, opaque finish and it looks glossy when topped with OPI Sec N’ Dry.I would absolutely buy this color again as it was exactly what I was looking for after I ran out of my usual go-to Sally Hansen polish. Do I expect this Essie polish to last much longer than the SH? No, not really. I already put a dent in one nail from opening some wet cat food and one nail flaked a bit on the side after cooking and prepping a big batch of beef and barley soup while washing my hands frequently, and it’s only been… 10 hours?

Essie nail polish are always a favorite for my wife. This is a nice bright red in the bottle but had a slight bit of orange toned when applied versus a true deep scarlet red. My wife had used two coats as suggested but was able to achieve a nice opaque colour with just one layer. It applied smoothly and evenly though it is worth noting that you do need to use the special clear gel couture top coat to get a smooth shine; which does require a separate purchase. Based on her testing so far, the gel couture line definitely lasts longer than the regular Essie formula. There were some small chips at the tips of her nails after a week but is not very noticeable at all considering she is constantly washing my hands throughout the day. Highly recommended product still as long you already have some of their products.

I received the essie long lasting nail color in the color "Electric geometric" which is a pinkish red color. The color is pretty accurate to the listing photographs.This is a thick polish that only needed 1 coat to get a full coverage look and it does have that gel nail polish look to it.The coverage is decent but I did find that it started to chip on my finger nails after just 3 days. I am okay with that though because I normally take polish off after a few days anyway. It did stay on my toes better.I would purchase this again in another color option.

This review is from my wife, as she is the one who tried it.The color is nice, and it comes in a beautiful bottle. The brush seems to be of high quality (ignore my imperfect application as I was in a hurry and just wanted to test the nail polish). For the long-lasting part, I am not sure, as I only kept it for a day and then removed it. I will update the review later once I have enough time to test if the polish will chip or not.
