Really good filters for my cats drinking fountain

I ordered these authentic replacement filters as Amazon was the cheapest by a country mile. I recently purchased the Drinkwell Platinum Fountain for my cats (which I've also notcied has dropped in price), and although a filter was included - the instructions were to replace these every 4-6 weeks depending on water quality / soiling.Now my cats aren't 'dribblers' although one of them does have a nasty habit of carrying his food around while eating. However I stayed on top of this and cleaned the fountain regularly. I've also been giving them bottled water, so there's not a limescale buildup or flouride overdose. Much more healthier for my pets, but comes at a small cost (£1.50 for 4 2l bottles).Because of how clean I've kept the fountain, and the free filter that was supplied, I was able to make this last 8 weeks and I'm sure it could have gone just that little bit longer.It arrived packaged in a plastic polythene bag, which was enclosed in Amazon's cardboard 'book packaging'. Very safe, and no damage. I've used one, with the other two still wrapped up and stored away from direct sunlight and odours.Overall, worth the price but if you look after your fountains and filters, these can last you a lot longer than Drinkwell recommend.

The filters appeared well made and fitted the water fountain perfectly.Unfortunately these got little use because the actual fountain they fit was of poor design and difficult to clean so it was only used a short time.

Purchased this along with the Drinkwell Platinum fountain and the brush cleaning kit. I was so impressed that I ordered another for use upstairs. Yes its expensive to initially purchase, and yes you do have to purchase the charcoal filters on a regular basis. I myself am more concerned with my dogs having a plentiful supply of clean water, I have tried plastic,ceramic and stainless steel bowls, none come anywhere near to the water quality this unit and filters produce. No more slimy germ infested bowls, clean regularly and let your pets enjoy. I have seen a lot of reviews saying that there are lots of black bits in the bowl from the charcoal filters, if you follow the instructions correctly, and wash the filters in warm water before using, this removes all the dust and the water flows clean and cool.

I have found this much better for the water fountain.. if we dont use it our fur baby does not drink as much.. Does make a difference

Keeping your pet's water fountain in tip-top condition requires a bit of TLC to keep your pet safe. Changing filters every month is crucial, as is maintaining the water pump with a brush kit every 3 months, especially in a hard water area.
