Spray Mastic Instant Leak Stop Spray N Seal for Roofs, Gutters, Pipes 200ml Black

I bought this spray for a leaking water pipe joint, I was disappointed at first to read on the tin that it is not recommended for this type of job! I had already used it before realising that part, but weeks later I find that the leak has stopped and everything so far is brilliantly dry!

Bought this as an experiment for a tricky roof leak. There is almost nothing in the can but I must confess that I am surprised how good this is. Using a gun for tubes of mastic is messy and inaccurate (for amateurs like me) and this seems to have done the job. Make it in a bigger can?!

Easy to apply, was a little doubtful of it sealing as its consistency was thin, sprayed on 2-3 coats, tested by the elements as there were a few heavy rain showers, really please with the result, sealed completely with no water ingress.

I would of given this product one initially but it did seem to do the job the second time round. I followed the instructions to the note, shaking spraying etc. In my opinion the cans have the wrong sort of spray nozzle on them. The spray nozzle has fixed elongated tube that allows the mastic spray to come out with such force that it makes a total mess of you and everything around you, it actually bounces back off the gutting. You just end up with a bubbly mess inside your gutter which didn't stop any of the leaks on my 3 cast iron gutter joints. However.... a couple of weeks later not being happy with the result and having another can to hand, I rubbed down the previous sprayed areas, changed the nozzle type with a different aerosol spray can, I built up the mastic spray in layers, with a much better control of the spray. This time it worked, no leaks on all three joints!!!

Saw this as a possible alternative to the old 'seek and seal'.Used it to seal gutter joint. Applied and it leaked. Applied again - still leaked. Took guttering apart and cleaned it up - should really have done that first - Gutter no longer leaks. Thus product sits over the joint and hardens but is not as flexible as the product it is trying to seal. It also does not 'seek' out the leak just relying on covering over the crack. On repairing the joint hardened material just broke away from the joint. Product was a complete waste of time - avoid.

Only very minor point is that there is not very much in the can. But I suppose it depends on how much you expect to use. I would use this again.

Used as per instructions. The nozzle blocked up after first use so had to use a spray head from another aerosol. The leak I tried to use it on was in a very difficult place under my bath, so giving it the benefit of the doubt and put 2 stars instead of 1.

I wrote a review earlier stating that this item had not arrived. I’d like to retract that statement and say that this item has arrived and so far it’s working ok.
