Must - MUST - Have Cookbook
I have been following Nagi for sometime on Instagram and knew she had written a cookbook, and from her posts I knew the time and efforts she had spent to prepare this book so I was very much looking forward to buying it. I was so disappointed it was not avaialble in my country, but I now managed to get it when visiting another country - yayyy!. This is the BEST cookbook I have ever got. All the recipes are practical, and easy to make. More importantly, the recipes, methods, instructions, tips and even a QR code to follow her making the recipe is available and easy to follow. Well done Nagi, you did more than an excellent job! It is a MUST buy cookbook - would even be an excellent gift as its very colorful and got a beautiful cover, with pictures of her dog whom she adores! Great recipes for families, for healthy eating, for quick one pot dishes, cakes and desserts, and how to make sauces, dressings and stocks, recipe symbols for those with dietary requirements and even a Glossary explaining lots of ingredients - IT's Got IT All - really comprehesive - you wont need another cookbook! Nagi also provides other options of ingredients you can use if you dont have exactly what she suggests in the recipe. I'm so happy I got this book and I know I will use it many many times. Finally, someone has written a cookbook that is practical and everyone can find plenty of recipes to make.....even if in a hurry for dinner!

Favourite cookbook of all time
I have a lot of cook books! This though.. this is a game changer. I have a family with 3 boys who differ greatly in taste buds. This book so far has pleased every single one of them. Every recipe has a photo (thank the lord, I need to see it to be tempted), every recipe is clear. Every recipe is easy. Every recipe tastes absolutely amazing. Seriously, don’t umm and arhhh. Buy it! I doubt you’ll get another off your shelf again.

Awesome, brilliant cookbook suitable for beginners and experienced cooks.
I discovered Nagi’s RecipeTinEats website some years ago. This was at the start of COVID lockdown and panic buying and I was searching for how to make bread without yeast (just in case - yes, I was panicking too!). I found a no-yeast flatbread recipe on her site, tried it, it worked brilliantly - and I was hooked! Since then so many of our family’s favourite meals come courtesy of her excellent website. So when I heard Nagi was producing a cookbook I was excited to see it - and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It is packed full of fantastic recipes with beautiful photo illustrations (enough to make your mouth water on their own). A really wide range of dishes; obviously a degrees of Asian-focus (she is Japanese, after all) but not limited to that by any means. There are recipes taking their inspiration from all the world. Each page is beautiful and is sufficient in itself to make the dish; it has the recipe, ingredients, method and some tips. But the absolutely unique feature of the book is that each page has a QR code at the bottom. Scan and follow the QR code and it takes you to a full webpage on RecipeTinEats which has all the above plus lots more details and tips and, most significantly, a beautifully-shot video showing you how to make it. These are really useful and helpful but will be particularly instructive for beginners; in fact, my son, who is in his first year at uni, took one look at this book and asked if he could take it back with him - which I’m very happy for him to do because it will really help his cooking skills and range (even if I end up having to buy a second copy for myself!)Nagi has a real knack of explaining the different methods and ingredients; which ingredients are best but what are viable alternatives if your pantry isn’t as fully stocked as some. She explains how and why she prepares a certain ingredient in a certain way and the benefits of that. And she can do all of this in a way that’s full and informative without ever being preachy or condescending. It’s simply a brilliant book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to cook and/or eat tasty food and especially those who are maybe just beginning in their culinary adventures or are lacking a bit in confidence.Oh, and each webpage has a little section with pictures of her lovely dog, Dozer.

Finally Some Different Recipes
I bought this book on the recommendation of relatives visiting from Australia who raved about it. I agree. There are loads of great recipes, easy and clear instructions and suggestions for alternative ingredients if you don’t have or can’t find what you need. I’ve already made several recipes and (even if I say so myself!) they tasted really good.

Excellent book!!!
This is probably my favourite cookbook I have bought and I have a LOT! Our cookbook club is cooking from this book and we all love it. The recipes are well written, the tips help you know things like if you can substitute and ingredient, or whether an alternate cooking vessel will work or different methods that were tested and if they worked. She also tells you on each recipe if you can store it for leftovers or freeze it. The QR code takes you to online content that shows how to videos and ingredient brands etc. Nagi has put a lot of work into this book and it shows. The photos are beautiful, the glossary is complete and informative and the index is great. If I had any bad comment it would be that she only has celsius oven temperatures. Not a big deal to convert but would have liked fahrenheit in brackets. Having said that, this is the best book for quality of recipes! Each one has gone through rigorous testing and our cookbook club really appreciates that! Thank you Nagi! We love this book and Dozer!

Recipe Tin Eats Makes New and Interesting Recipes Achievable
First, I am biased: I've been following and using Nagi Maehashi's Recipe Tin Eats online for several years. She was already one of my top two cooking gurus. (The other is Meredith Laurence, the Blue Jean Chef.) I have printed out MANY pages of Nagi's recipes in notebooks and use them on a regular basis. Many more pages hang in my kitchen waiting to be sampled. And I've been eagerly waiting since October for the arrival of her first cookbook in the United States. When I "finally" received my hardcover copy of the book last night, I jumped to check out which recipes I've already made that are in the book. There are many, and my favorite go-tos include:Greek Chicken Gyros: just finished up a set-aside batch from the freezer - YUM!Chicken Shawarma: Double YumMac & Cheese: Her cheese combination is wonderfuland Shepherd's/Cottage Pie, the ultimate confort foodWhat I enjoy most about her recipes are the excellent notes that describe the whys and how-tos for the different ingredients; what substitutions can be used, and what won't work as well. For many years I had listened to numerous TV chefs extol the virtues of chicken thighs. But as a confirmed white meat eater, I never tried them until Nagi talked/wrote me through using them. The book's links through to her online videos are an inspired feature. Wonderful, empowering cook and a great teacher for an old dog like me.Another plus is that the ingredients are, in general, "normal" items that are readily available in a local supermarket. For me, ingredients must be available in a small town Winn Dixie. Again, her suggestions for alternatives really matter. There are many other recipes I've used from her blog, but this is the "Dinners" cookbook. I have never been disappointed with flavor or found them to be beyond my skills. Now to go back and mark the recipes in the book that I want to try next. These kept on side-tracking me last night but I stayed true to my task of finding my old favorites. One of the reviewers mentioned thin paper. My book does not have thin paper.Taste is individual, but for me this book does not disappoint. I am probably going to order the Kindle version as well so I can keep it with me. And recommend to all: buy the book, sign up for the blog, follow on social media, etc. And enjoy cooking something delicious! And enjoy the contributions of Dozer, one of my favorite Goldens ever!

Love her on Instagram and love the book. Every receipt is tasty. The range of dishes is great and the added information on storage and replacements deserves another star.
