Veniards Pinnacle Fly Tying Kit - Complete set of tools and materials

A really good starter kit - I'm completely new to fly tying. I've watched around 40 youtube videos showing how to tie different flies and have the book "Fly tying for beginners" (also available on Amazon). So far every material they've used has been in the box with loads of things I haven't seen yet, including a whole golden pheasant (minus the meaty bits), a rabbit's face and magpie wings. There's around 15 rolls of thread and foil, together with lots of hooks, beads, mylar, foam and you name it in the box.It took over an hour to inspect everything that came in the box. The tools look pretty good and the vice solid. It even includes basic instructions on how to tie flies and a list of 101 flies you can create with what's in the kit.Yes this is expensive and no doubt you could get all the materials for less money if you bought separately. However, when you're first starting out you have no idea what you need so this is an excellent start; the great storage box it comes in is also big enough to get loads more stuff in when you want to add to your materials, and yes, you can sit on it...I don't post a lot of reviews but this had to be recommended. Oh and the seller is first rate - ordered Boxing Day and was delivered by Royal Mail on the 31st which is excellent considering the holiday period.

Bought this as a present for my husband, when it arrived the corner of the box was broken, however, the service from the company was second to non - very friendly staff deal with. Fully satisfied with the out come.The box is very good value for money lots of things for a new starter, would high,y recommend.

I am very pleased with this kit. I thought twice about spending this much on a fly tying kit, but checked the materials included and thought they were all very usable. The kit is supplied with full retail packs of materials, not "starter packs" as in some kits. The retail cost of the feathers in the top section alone was well in excess of £110 and the box itself retails for £88. Add to this all the tools, threads, tinsels, flosses and other materials and you realise how good value this is.

Much more to this than I expected, many high grade Veniard products and a great box to keep them compact and tidy which is more important than I considered. Great value and great fun going through it on arrival but I promise you more to it than you first realise.

The majority of the Kit was excellent, however I was disappointed with the scissors as these are an important part of Fly tying
