I purchased this for my mother who suffers from an aching hip/lower back. The idea is for her to be able to place it behind her against a cushion whilst she's sitting.I took a while to choose this one from the myriad of similar offerings on Amazon. In the end it was a toss up between this one and a Beurer one and this Homefront one won based on the combination of price and ratings.It arrived promptly and was well packaged. The material is furry/smooth to the touch and there are no obviously large uncomfortable thick wires running under the material of the sort that you used to get (still do?) on some electric blankets.There is an electric power cable/fitting that necessarily protrudes from one corner but it can easily be positioned so that it does not get in the way. The fitting is also smooth so there is nothing that will stick uncomfortably in ones back.I tried the pad myself, placing it against a cushion on one of our kitchen chairs and found it perfectly comfortable - no protrusions. The pad has three heat settings (the svertical trying lights up on the handset in blue) and I went straight for number 3 and found that it heated up quickly and to a temperature that was warming and comfortable, much like an electric blanket or, if you're familiar with them, a heated car seat.Personally I could have coped with it being a bit hotter but I would be perfectly happy with it as it is and I can well understand that you would never want any danger of an older person having something that had the potential to be uncomfortably against their more delicate skin.It is good to note that the pad will switch off automatically after 90 minutes, for safety purposes.I've uploaded a number of pictures that you can take a look at to see more detail.So, in summary:Pros- Reasonable price- Good materials and build quality- Safety features- Comfortable and warms up quickly without getting too hotCons- None that I can think of to be honestI hope you find this review of use. Hurt my back and it was so painful all the time and not getting better. Been using hot water bottle and Hootie (my owl microwaveable warmer). However, these were both uncomfortable to lean on and actually were sticking in the painful spot making it somewhat worse. Decided to try a heat pad. It was very good at first and, although I was initially scared to lean on it, it did a good comfortable job. As with the other aforementioned items of heat it tended to slip down and, I found, I was forever worrying that it may crease up or bend and the wires get broken inside. It is very good, don't get me wrong, but you cannot keep it against your back for ultimate warmth. It will, however, be good for other parts of the body. eg: my arthritic knees or a tummy ache. So a good item for most aches and pains. It was packaged very well and it was delivered very quickly within a day.

This electric pad starts to give relief immediately, very happy.

The pad is well made with a nice soft fibre and heats up quickly to a good temperature however I do have one concern with regards to the design. I had hoped that the cable would have been designed to pull apart if too much weight is put on it. The pad was a gift for my 80 year old aunt. The Velcro fastening is very generous and as a consequence overlaps considerably meaning that she is secured very tightly. If someone rings the door bell and she forgets that she’s wearing the pad when she gets up then the odds are she’s going to take a tumble. As a result I’ve told her not to fasten it.

I use these all the time for muscle, mentrual and fibromyalgia pain. They are so great to just pop on, and the auto shut off means its fine to use at night too. I bought this one for my niece who had been rushed to hospital with really bad food poisoning and other woes. She found this invaluable for keeping her sane when she was waiting to take her next lot of pain killers. Such a great invention for so many uses beyond just cold feet at night. The range of temperatures is good, and they stand up to lots of use and abuse!

It’s not as described, 100w not 110w and the heating filaments are so widely spaced that it’s not possible for it to get very warm. Fill a hot water bottle and leave it in bed until morning and that will give you a good indication of the heat output. It will be returned!

Worked really well initially, very soft and liked the auto cut off, but now the switch makes a " crackle" noise when it's switched on, sounds like it may fuse, so scared to use it. Threw packaging away so unable to return.Good, but very expensive for only 4 weeks use!Initially, this was the review I submitted, however, the company then contacted me as they were concerned about my poor customer experience of their product. They then sent me a replacement item free of charge.My learning from this is that I should have given the company an opportunity to rectify my issue before placing my review. This was unfair on my part.Secondly, I have very rarely observed a company more committed to customer satisfaction than this one. That is a rare and valuable work ethic, worthy of more than 5 stars.
