Hardcastle Black Large Outdoor Steel Lockable/Locking Mailbox/Postbox

I previously bought another mailbox and had to send it back because it wasn't sturdy enough or secure enough. This mailbox is superb. It is very sturdy. It has a very good quality paint finish. It is reasonably secure. The door hinges at the bottom so your mail will not fall on the floor when you open it....as it might with doors hinged at the side. It comes with four rubber spacers for mounting. They are well designed. They are narrower on the wall side so that rainwater will tend to run away from the box. They have an open end at the wall side so they provide a tolerance for inaccurate drilling. Finally, this box is BIG. It must be one of the largest boxes available without having to pay the premium for a larger parcel-size secure box. It is excellent value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The Mail Box lived up to its description. A good size, sufficient for a good qty of mail as well as small parcels. It arrived with all the fittings, including “spacer” bungs, to provide clearance from the wall, to allow the lid to fully open, without scratching against the wall. I particularly liked the size of the mail slot, set at an angle to prevent anyone interfering with your mail. I fitted my mail box reasonably quickly - just required simple tools - power drill, screwdriver and a sprit level. While screws and Plugs are provided, I used slightly larger screws and plugs, to ensure a secure fit. Top tip - make up a cardboard template, which makes drilling correct holes much easier. I used a pet food box, before putting out in the recycling. Fitted at about chest height to prevent anyone looking into the mail box, while having the locking opening easily accessible. Very impressed by the quality of this item, which is not a flimsy lightweight. It looks very durable, to provide many years of service.

This is a good item....the top loading makes it easy to put large mail items/packages in it.It is also pretty sturdy when installed. Comes with spacers to give the top room to open.Bad points......rawl plugs supplied were far too small....I had to get larger ones. I also had to get shorteer screws...as the ones supplied were too long!Also , although it should be pretty evident to most people how to install it, there were no installation instructions!However. once it is up, it is a good looking/sturdy box.

A very good and sturdy box that was easy for me to install whilst the hubby was at work. The top-loading feature makes it very easy for the postie to access without having to come onto the garden. Easy access to unload the mail also and seems very watertight. The only thing that would make it even better would be if the opening was ever so slightly wider to allow letterbox friendly boxes in.

Large and very easy to access. This appears to be well finished, with smooth rounded corners and secure fitting lid. The capacity is excellent. I receive weekly journals by mail and they fit inside with ease. A4 envelopes disappear and postal packages, eg DVDs, are well protected from wet weather as the lid closes over the opening. So far it's unaffected by wind and has remained shut.It's supplied with 4 screws and rawlplugs plus 4 rubberised stoppers to place it a little away from the wall surface. This allows the lid to open fully. The slot at the front is awkward to access; I don't need to identify the box, so haven't used it. It was easy to fit with power drill and screwdriver onto mortar/brick wall. I'm hoping this will last some years. The postman likes it. Easy for deliveries.

Read all reviews before deciding to go with this purchase. Excellent product all round although I can understand some of the comments about water seeping in the top and getting into the box when the weather is bad but this would only happen if the box is exposed i.e. on a fence or gate. On a wall in a porch would present no problem. The other potential issue that buyers had experiencedwas that you cannot fix the box flush to a wall as the product description had stated because in doing so, the top flap would not open all the way. You needed to put a 1" block of wood behind it, attach that to the wall and then the box to the wood. Spent an hour or more buying and cutting the wood only to find that the box is now supplied with 4 1" rubber spacers which do the job perfectly!Bottom line....good product at a good price and stops my 16 week old puppy chewing everything that used to come through the letterbox.

Ci stanno anche dei pacchetti che nella vecchia cassetta venivano lasciati fuori o infilati solo in parte e spesso rovinati dalle intemperie.Recensisco i prodotti dopo mesi per verificare il loro effettivo valore.Molto bene

La boîte aux lettres est bien en elle même. Mais la serrure n'est pas un standard "poste" ce qui en fait une boîte aux lettres inutilisable pour les livraisons de colis ...c'était tout son intérêt !

Grande, spaziosa, l’apertura superiore può essere allargata per far passare anche piccoli pacchi ma lo svantaggio è che in quel caso può passare anche una mano.Il coperchio copre bene e non dovrebbe far entrare acqua, per precauzione ho applicato una guarnizione di neoprene adesivo allo sportello anteriore.Spero che il colore non sbiadisca nel tempo come ho letto nelle recensioni di prodotti simili.Se succederà qualcosa di non gradito, aggiornerò la recensione, ma per ora sono soddisfatto dell’acquisto
