Extremely good for the price
Very impressed.Powerful pump and good size solar panel.Likes:• Good size solar panel with a frame around it.• The battery back-up means the pump (fountain) continues when a cloud passes over the sun.• Fountain continued until at least 10pm in the evening (early May) and the lights came on when it got dark. (Next day the fountain came on without having to turn it on and the battery recharged).• Range of spray pattern nozzles and 4 section tubes to get it above water level.• On/off button on the back and light to indicate level of charge of the batteryDislikes:• The way the stake fixes to the solar panel, it fits to the flimsy frame of the solar panel.• The pump unit is small and lightweight, when the wind moved the fountain (water spray) it moved the whole pump unit so it was watering the garden! I have used some large pebbles around it to anchor it in place.• Flow control would have been a nice addition as we only have a smallish water feature, but I got round this by drilling a hole in one of the tubes to the fountain head to alleviate the pressure to the fountain head (started with 2mm hole, increased in increments to 5mm which suited our needs). When I unpacked it and assembled it the solar panel worked well even though there was light cloud in front of the sun.Was so impressed by this unit for £30 have purchased another for THE missus’ small dragon water fall which was sold with a mains pump, I did replace it last year with a cheap solar pump, but frustrating that with every cloud it stopped which with typical British weather I guess was to be expected. Again, with this pump the Dragon water fall continues whatever. I also had to do ‘the hole in the pipe’ trick again as the power of this pump meant the water was ‘overshooting!'Does everything I expected and would not hesitate in recommending it.

Some issues
We have a garden water feature which is a large stainless steel ball. Water bubbles up through the top and cascades down and it lights up at night. The upsides; The LED ring is a perfect fit for the tube through the ball and the 250ltr ph pump gives the perfect flow. The downsides;.On good days we have had an intermittent flow and it has lit up briefly at night on the brightest days but most of the time it doesn’t run or it gives an intermittent spurt. I have connected a low voltage 9v lead to the charging port but the light won’t come on when it goes dark. The other problem with it is that if it runs out of power it switches itself off and has to be manually switched on. Even when I charge the panel the power indication light on the back glows red not green suggesting the battery cannot be charged which is probably why it doesn’t work. I have messaged Direct Global Trading but all they have done is respond with questions and not offered any solutions. It is proving to be a complete waste of money

Works well, with some adjustments
The media could not be loaded. For my set up I needed to extend the plain tube using a biro pen plastic casing to get the height from the reservoir under the mill stone. It is a gentle bubble and lights up at dusk. The spray heads were not very effective visually. Best thing no electricity so no need to run live wires in garden through to house. Attracts wildlife. All fountains require some fiddling around and the same goes for this.

Perfect solar fountain pump!
The media could not be loaded. This is exactly what I was looking for to create a small water feature for my patio. I used a planter, pizza tray, pebbles and this fantastic solar powered pump and created a soothing feature for my garden. The pump comes with a variety of nozzles, and seems capable of producing quite a tall spout of water with some of them. I have fitted the one which doesn't create much height as I only wanted it to trickle the water over the pebbles. It has worked well so far, with the battery life allowing it to continue pumping for some time once the sun has stopped shining. The small lights will come on when it is dark, and illuminate the water beautifully.I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is fab alternative if u have no mains
The media could not be loaded. I read reviews on this and I thought. I'll give it a go. So glad I did. It's fab! It's been cloudy here today. Still pumped out. Its now dark and the bk up battery has kicked in. Still have water! I'm over the moon. What a fab cheaper than average piece of kit! Even tho the battery isn't fully charged as only had for a day, its glowing red, its still working.the light stays on all the time cos its plugged Into the unit. That's OK tho. U can't do anything about that unless u continue to pop in the garden to unplug. If u have no mains outside and want to keep your fish happy. Buy 1!U obviously have to keep it cleaned out for blockages. But just like u would do with an electrical system.Update!! I got up this am and the pump was off. I'm assuming lack of charge. So I turned it bk on. After a few hrs it turned off again. So I turned it bk on. The yellow light is now on. If this is just a charge issue then once it goes green it should b fine. However if u constantly gotta check on it znd turn it on then its going to become annoying. Time will tell

Tranquility!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this 3 months ago and was waiting to see if it would stop working. It hasn’t: it still works very well. The height of the fountain is easily adjusted by playing with the diameter of the spout. I dug a hole and “sank” a glass bowl into it. I then made a “shelf” by cutting off the handle of a fat-splash guard. The pebbles disguise and hide the reservoir with the pump. Full charge keeps the pump running for several hours after the sun has gone. Love it!

Design problem
The solar panel comes with both a ground spear and fence fitting that needs the edge of the panel to be slotted into. Neither is very secure. After a few weeks, the weight of the panel has caused the edge to collapse and fracture. There is no other means of securing the panel
