Great product, simple, effective and great value

Looks nice against a black background. Dial can be a bit stiff sometimes jumping a little rather than smoothly moving about the range, but it works. I have found it useful to understand and control the burn. Wouldn’t be without it now.

Essential item for a wood burner or Multifuel stove to avoid under heating which would produce flammable creosote and over heating which could crack or damage your stove. The Needle is a bit difficult to see in half light due to it being a gold colour.

I have a cassette style wood burner, therefore flue not accessible to attach the thermometer. So I put it on the outer rim of the burner, where is looks fine. I have no means of confirming how accurate the temp is from there but it has helped me judge when I should add another log. The yellow gauge isn't obvious in the dark but I shine a torch at it from where I am seated , and that sorts that problem. I brought one of these for my daughters wood burner last autumn and it is still in use. It's worth the small cost. I recommend it.

I recently bought a log burner for the first time and decided that to help me operate it it would be good to know what the temperature is as this is key to obtain a clean efficient burn.This a very simple temperature sensor that is magnetic and just sticks to the top of the burner that indicates the temperature in degrees C and in F, but importantly, has a green zone that indicates the temperature region for the best burn. Using the temperature gauge I have been able to work out the combination of fuel and air mix that enables a stable heat output alongside a efficient consumption of fuel.This is a simple inexpensive device that if used properly will help you run your log burner more efficiently and will save you a lot of expense on fuel. Highly recommended.

Getting one of these was a recommendation from my chimney sweep after he assessed I had been using my multi fuel burner at too high a temp.I had been reluctant to buy one earlier as I didn't particularly want a dial visible in our lounge but, given his insight, I chose this which, given it was green and not bright red in the 'zone' was a little more low key.Using it has been a revelation and provides a clear indicator of the sweet spot for running my burner. It also has a bit of a steam punk vibe to it and, as a consequence, I do in fact like it.Form and function. Tick.

This is a great little item to have. It's helped me to understand the operation of the wood burner a lot more I've placed it just above the collar of the flue so I can see when the fire is burner at optimum level.

I've been using this since late September 2016 and am very pleased with it.It came in a fairly easy to open card and plastic box with some basic instructions.A gauge such as this is essential if you want to get the best value for money from your fuel, get maximum heat potential into your house and more importantly avoid damage to your burner. I also have it for another reason and that is because I have two fans on top of my burner, pushing heat into the room from a recessed into the fireplace multi fuel burner. These fans are powered by the heat generated at the top of the burner and if that heat exceeds 300c it can damage them.The gauge attaches to your burner with a substantial magnet, there is zero chance of it dropping off! I tried it in various locations finally settling on the base of the flue where it joins the burner. There appears to be little, if any, variance in temperature no matter where you fit it. My main reason for locating where I have is that there is less chance of it getting knocked and damaged. That isn't to say that the gauge is badly made or flimsy but for fairly obvious reasons the gauge indicator arm cannot be covered easily so it is exposed on the face. I initially located it on the front above the burner door but found it was getting caught by the logs.It is a good looking addition to your burner and I have found that I am now in 'control' of the burner and as a result am using slightly less fuel (logs).There are other gauges available but I feel for the price and build quality this one is a winner for me and I would have no problem recommending this to family and friends.

The thermometer both looks nice and does its job. With the attached magnet it’s a breeze to get it mounted. Also, it is ”calibrated” correctly. When tested against other thermometers it is close enough. There is some delay since it does not measure the smoke temperature directly, which is to be expected. But it is a very good indicator for a clean burn. So I am very happy with my purchase and would both buy it again and wholeheartedly recommend it.
