I love it
Coming from the usual supermarket 3-4-5 blades razors it took a little time to get used to this. But hey, it now works well and it is a pleasure to shave. You just need to prepare your beard and face skin very well with a good soap, hot water, and a decent shaving foam. But once done with the preparation, everything goes smooth and there is very little chance to nick or cut yourself. The razor looks very cool, stylish and timeless. It is a nice object to even keep in your bathroom and look at.I'm no expert but I find it short handled and quite heavy. Make sure to also buy sharp/agressive blades because the razor itself is not that "open" and maybe tends to cut way less than you'd expect with soft blades. I use the best ones that Derby makes, and I found a perfect combination. I think I will keep this razor for years and years to come, and maybe try a second one, someday.

Classy razor
Wow! This feels as though you could run it over and it wouldn't even be marked. The build quality is great and despite being quite short-handled it's very weighty. After years of using fancy plastic razors, I decided to go for a bit of old school quality and don't worry, you get used to the different feel very quickly.I was initially concerned that I would end up with loads of cuts but so far so good! One blade lasts me about 4 days before it starts to lose its edge slightly, don't get me wrong, it would probably last a week but why bother, they are quite cheap anyway. For such a lovely piece of engineering, I'm surprised there are no markings on the razor itself only the packaging it comes in..........whilst this isn't a problem it makes it harder to show off!

Great vintage feel razor
This is a great razor that delivers a terrific shave, especially in those awkward areas under the nose. Some may find the small size of the handle awkward, especially if you're used to shaving with long handled cartridge razors, but don't be put off; if you take the plunge and buy one of these, you'll adjust to it in no time. Because of its ease of maneuverability around my face, this razor has permanently replaced my old safety razor. Well balanced and neither too heavy or too light, the standard three piece design makes blade changing straightforward. A superb combination of style and substance, the nickel plating is very well applied and flawless as far as I can tell. I love the idea of shaving with something my grandad might have used when the razor was first made.

Handle not the greatest get the 34C instead
Same head as the 34C, which is both heavier, knurled and made of steel. Buy that instead

Excellent
I've tried the multiplicity of products fom Gillette, Wilkinson's, Harry's, and others. There are lots of good products in there. However, this Merkur is the best, especially used with the Merkur Super Blade. The short handle takes a bit of getting used to, but it's worth the effort persevering.
