Keep it close as it will be stolen the minute someone sees it
I had one of these a long time ago. It got taken iny office. Its one of those slick designed pens that people don't believe is a 4 in one pen. The pencil function is so useful. The only way to make it better would be to put a tablet tip on one of the pens.

Unsuitable for astronauts
The gravity-based ink selection mechanism is very clever and a joy to use. (One holds the pen horizontally and rotates it around its long axis until the desired ink symbol is uppermost - and then presses the button). However, this gravity-based feature renders the pen unsuitable for astronauts and other free-fall applications. I can also foresee problems for fighter pilots wishing to switch pen colours during negative G manoeuvres. And trampolinists.

Phenomenal Multi-Pen/Pencil
Love, love, love it.Though... The mechanical system for selecting the pen colour/pencil is very, very hit and miss. It really fails in this area, its over engineered really. The Lamy offerings on Amazon have a far better system, which is simple, you get the colour you expect when you select it, with the Rotring you don't...

Wonderful, presentable pen

Very useful all in one pen - don't lend it to others.
The original biro refills are a little fine. I buy Lamy biro refills as the ball is slightly larger and writes more fluidly. Be careful if you lend it to anyone. They all try retracting it by pushing top in rather than the clip. If they do this forcibly it breaks the mechanism. This is my third in 15 years.

WORKS FINE AS A PEN
WORKS FINE AS A PEN. BUT AT SUCH A PRICE, IT IS DISAPPOINTING THE GLOSSY PAINT IS CHIPPING OFF.

Still manufacturing!
I had one of these for 25 years, then lost it on a site in Swindon. I had to have a replacement. The Rotring factory in Hamburg is no more and production has moved to Japan, but the replacement is almost the same and of high quality.
