I liked the succinct vignettes covering many aspects of advances in science emanating from Scotland and the people behind them.

Such an interesting read.

A brilliant follow-up to Scotland’s Science. If anything, I enjoyed this second volume even more than the first, as it covers fascinating scientific advances right up to the present day. The biographies are written in a concise, engaging and accessible way, making it a pleasure to read. I learned a lot from this book and am excited to see what today’s Scottish scientists have in store for a future volume!

Congratulations to Dr Mellis. This second book is equally as good as Scotland's Science, and deserves to be widely read by anyone with an interest in the fascinating history of Scots pioneers of science / technology and medicine. It is a book you can dip into, and is an easy and enjoyable read. if you enjoy history and science, I thoroughly recommend this book.
