Pretty light tines
Really dig this fork especially on special offer and free delivery. Much easier to maintain just some oil on the handle/shaft now and then. I have broken tines on a few S&J forks in the past but mostly stainless steel ones. It is a brittle material even when hot forged. Today most are welded together shaft socket to fork which works fine as it keeps the prices low. A lot of products do come from the other side of the globe but to be fair the two s/s forks(v expensive) I had breakages were made in Sheffield. I was lifting and loosening roots to some old fuschias and rose bushes at the time and the tine(always second left) snapped like a carrot. I couldn't believe it the first time. I now use carbon tools for heavier work as they bend

Very impressed with S&J customer service
Snapped with light use so was very disappointed. However, S&J customer service were brilliant and sent a replacement under 10 year warranty. Thank you. Amazon customer service not so great - cut me off mid chat. Quite surprised as usually very good

Barely used and broke after very minor digging
I have barely used this fork as you can probably see.I was trying to dig some soil over in my allotment today and the thing just broke on me.I take pride by looking after my tools and always clean and store them in my shed. You can probably see that the fork has been been barely used.I bought it in 2022, so not even 2 years old and the wooden handle/spine completely snapped off.I don’t expect a re known company Spear & Jackson to produce such a weak tool that is expensive in itself to break. Most garden forks will last many years if looked after. So after only 22 months for it to break has really peeved me off and I want it replaced asap.

Beautiful garden fork
It has a beautiful stainless steel head with a wonderful lightweight wooden shaft and handle. Really sturdy and works really well for aerating the soil and turning it over. As for the people saying it broke, I strongly believe they weren't using it properly or for its intended purpose.

Quality Heirloom Tool
I purchased this to replace my Spear & Jackson Neverbend Digging fork of two decades use ( and the tine bent due the user, not the tool ) and I'm very pleased. It is handsome and sturdy. Excells at turning compost and soil over. And digs well too. I would say, if you have rocks and clay or hardpan, I would consider the less attractive, less expensive Neverbend Professional Digging Fork. It served me well under such harsh conditions.

Robusta e leggera
