Prebio Plus is fantastic!
I have been making milk kefir (MK) now for about four or five months and I love it. In the winter months my MK was nice, thick, and creamy. As the weather got warmer it seemed like no matter what I did the MK was fermenting too quickly and the taste was no longer smooth and creamy.I tried reducing the grains and still I was not happy with the thickness and consistency of the kefir. I saw Prebio Plus advertised online and I put off buying it thinking I would be cheating in some way. I broke down and decided to try it and I’m happy I did!I added less than a scoop of Prebio Plus to my finished quart jar containing the kefir, and one full scoop in my half gallon fermenting jar with the MK grains still in. The results were fantastic!The gritty strained milk in my quart jar was “repaired” and returned silky, smooth and creamy in 24 hours. It was delicious! The milk in the half gallon jar with the grains in it also became smooth and thickened up nicely. The kefir grains also grew quicker and plumper.You don’t have to add Prebiotic Plus to your MK every time you make it. Maybe once a week if you make it daily. I reached out with questions to the company that sells this product and they were extremely helpful answering all my questions in detail.I love Prebio Plus, I will continue to use it, and, I recommend it to anyone making their own milk kefir.

Yogurt Ingredient
I mix this product with yogurt from my last batch of yogurt and add it to half & half to make a new batch every 7-10 days. I cook it sous vide style for 36 hours at 100 degrees. It can also be made in an insta pot. 1 tbs of Cutting Edge Cultures Prebio Plus Prebiotic Fiber Powder mixed well with 1/3 cup half & half. Combine 1/8 cup of yogurt from the last batch of yogurt and mix well. Fill the container with half & half to equal 2 cups. Mix well and put in a qt jar. You can also add 1/4 cup of heavy cream to make a richer product. When cooking, place a lid on top of the jar, but do not tighten it so air can escape.

surprise ingredient for perfect yogurt
I'm making Super Gut yogurt and this came highly recommended. After making batches with it and forgetting the fiber in one batch, I can really say it makes a difference on the thickness and creaminess of the texture of this yogurt. I'm still making the beginning strains which are harder to gain creaminess on so this really helps it from clumping (curdling) and separating. This last batch, I only had enough whey for the next batch - the rest of it was creamy out of the pot and looks lovely now it has thickened in the fridge.
