I got a version of this leash almost 5-6 years ago and that one is still working with only occasional twists and lock ups. The old one has been dropped, dragged, placed in sand, water, and a whole slew of other things, and it works great. This new one from a different brand looks exactly the same as the old one - except the new one is slightly smaller (which may mean it's a S or M instead of L). It's very easy to use. It has a strong lock. The quick lock button is very tactile and gets a very good bite. The leash is reflective. Overall, my mom loves the new one and I love my old one.

This leash looks sturdy and is somewhat heavier than many others I had over the years. And it mainly worked well, although sometimes the tape got stuck when retracting and I had to manually twist it so it went back in the mouth of the leash. Then the leash began losing the ability to instantly stop the tape's advancement, which is necessary to avoid dangerous accidents. Finally, after less than 6 months it unfurled the tape to full length and died.Update: After getting in touch with the seller, I was promised to get a replacement leash. We'll see how long that will last.

This retractable leash is perfect to use for my Siberian Husky. It fits comfortably in my hand, does not get tangled, no tight tension while she is doing her business, and effortlessly retracts as she walks back to me. The brake/stop button is easily in thumbs reach and works great.Just a heads up and FYI...if the leash gets wet, leave it extended out to dry or it will get a musky smell. If you forget and it does start to smell, just extend the entire leash and place just the leash in a bowl of dish soap (I love Dawn Platinum) and warm water to wash, then rinse and hang to dry completely before retracting.Overall, it is very sturdy, durable and easy to use!

Locking mechanism works opposite what do you think, awkward to use, needs a redesign!
