If I want to hook one into a stitch and leave it there to be released later then I use a more expensive and flexible stitch mark
Do the job! These work out at about a penny each, reviewers have complained that they are brittle and cannot be fastened and unfastened without breaking. For me this is not an issue. I fastened them and none broke, and I generally use stitch markers closed and move them from needle to needle marking the start of the row in sock knitting. If I want to hook one into a stitch and leave it there to be released later then I use a more expensive and flexible stitch marker or one of the many tiny metal safety pins I have collected from garment labels or even a strand of contrasting waste yarn tied in a knot (the last marker sometimes needs to be cut to release it)Their value to me is the colour range they come in which contrasts with the knitting. I have bought two packs of Knit Pro markers which are indestructible but much more expensive and only come green and purple, so sometimes they do not contrast enough. Whatever you pay for markers, if you are like me and knit on the move in trains etc, you will lose them so paying less makes it easier to be philosophical about it.

Unfortunately no good - they break
Shipping took very long as it came from China. Otherwise well packaged.Parcel contained tiny bag with 5 differently-coloured sets of 4 markers, BUT one marker had manufacturing fault making it unusable. As the description says "approx." 20 markers, that is, I suppose, the risk one takes, shame though.Otherwise the markers work fine as needle-work markers. The work like blunt-tipped safety pins which are very versatile: they can be hung on a needle or threaded through a knitting/ crocheting loop. Having different colours is useful in marking separate parts of pattern.I do, however, have doubts about the claim that they can be used as nappy pins. Two pins have broken already and used carefully. I don't think they will be strong, durable enough or safe with small children as small broken plastic parts are, in my estimate, not a good idea in conjunction with babies or small children.Update after 3 months: Only 8 pins remain. The others all, one by one and in spite of very careful handling, broke when opened. The plastic becomes brittle after so many uses. Shame really as they look nice, but they simply don't last.My solution? Use some coloured paper clips from your local stationery store. They are more reliable, cheaper in the long run, stronger and equally useful!!!

Cheap and cheerful
First of all I bought 20 of these for 12p and free p+p so I wasn’t expecting much for the price. They came in two weeks which from China is good. They are all bright colours not the pretty pastel shade in the picture and I only received 19. They do look a little cheap with poor moulding marks but they can be trimmed to fix this. They seem a little thinner than other ones I’ve used before but that could be an advantage on smaller projects. No breakages yet but for the price I can just order more.

Tiny
A bit difficult to work with as they require two hands to open and close each one. However, I now wouldn't be without them, as my crochet projects are much neater since I started marking each row at the beginning and end! Using these is better than using a bit of yarn in a contrasting colour as a stitch marker, as I have no fear that the place will be lost from the yarn falling out; or the fibres getting wound up and the colours bleeding into each other as a result. I was pleased that I got MORE than 20 pieces and they arrived promptly, and all in pastel shades of green, pink, and white. I didn't get any lavender coloured ones but that's okay.

Do Not Buy!!!!
Terrible... no matter HOW gentle, with just enough pressure to get them to 'catch' they keep snapping... I have been using them for one project and up to date I have lost 6...they last about 4/5 uses before they snap. I'm on my 7th.... I need them as I am working on the round so they have to keep getting used 'for purpose' the project is 7in tall and 8 ins' narrowing to 4...and I'm only half way there!!! They would be fine for a 'stay in place' decoration or card making as they are light and thin. I do not recommend them as stitch keepers.

Cheap, Cheerful, Be Prepared to Wait for them though
I purchased these as I was looking for some cheap stitch markers for knitting. I really only needed one, so I didn't want to spend a fortune. I found these and felt they were just what I was looking for. They were perfect for marking stitches for the knitting I was doing (particularly when knitting in the round) and the price made them available. I was not fussed about having to wait, but it did take about 3 weeks to arrive. If you are looking for them to arrive quickly they would not be for you, but if you have a few weeks they're great.

stitch locks
I was pleased to have found these little stitch locks but since using them ,I've been disappointed . So far, every one has broke when undoing them. I've tried to be as gentle as possible but to no avail .To be honest i threw them away in the end. However they were so cheap that I've not lost any thing for trying.I wouldn't diss them completely because someone else might have the knack of getting them off without breaking them. It's a shame really because the concept is brilliant
