A good purchase
Excellent value. Good paintbrushes which do not seem to lose their hairs. This set gives a wide selection of round brushes which hold the paint.I use these for watercolour painting.

Perfect for water colour and acrylics.
I actually bought these brushes to use for oil painting, but they are a little too soft for what I need. They are indeed lovely brushes and will be wonderful I think, for water colour and acrylics, but not so much for oil. I may well have misread the listing ... it is a habit of impatience!

Good Quality Set for Learning to Paint in Watercolours
Perfect set for a beginner's class on watercolours where the tutor asked us to obtain certain sized brushes. These are of reasonable quality when learning as you don't want to pay a lot for them at the start when not sure if you are going to persevere with it. The brushes have been very good when doing the simple landscapes being taught to the class at present.

Pro Arte bargain
I have used Pro Arte brushes in the past and consider them extremely good for watercolour or acrylic painting. I have always purchased the better quality brushes and was a little uncertain whether this set would come up to standard as they were cheaper than those previously bought. In the event, they are an excellent buy and suitable for use by beginners and those of us with experience. They appear to hold the colour well and retain their shape. It will be interesting to see how long they last, but at this price one could replace them if they prove not quite so long-lasting as the more expensive quality.I would thoroughly recommend this set and Pro Arte brushes in general. Happy painting!

Recommend
First of all I am definitely not a pro when it comes to painting. I decided I wanted to take up watercolour painting as a hobby and decided that these seemed like reasonably priced but not cheap set of paintbrushes to use. I found these are a great start to my painting adventure and would recommend them. If you are like me and are a beginner I recommend you also buying a large flat watercolour brush if you are wanting to paint scenery and also a fan shaped brush. Definitely worth it.

For a child-ideal
Have yet to see how they perform, as cheap brushes go they look fine, these are for a grand-daughter, I occasionally let them loose with my brushes, but never my Kolinski sable (which are 30 years old btw, I wouldn’t buy them now) and the cheap synthetics don’t stand up well to the abuse ! Pro Arte are a good company not that I can find these on their website.....I wish brushes came in standard sizes though, the largest of these is nothing like the same size as my expensive brands. Will update * when seen how they doThey came well packaged and no damage, be warned there is a price sticker on the front if you order and send as a gift
