Hydor Koralia Evolution Circulation & Wave Pump , 1050-1150 GPH

I got 3 of these in 2015 and haven't had any problems or failures. Great value for the money if you take into account they use less power than a 40w equiv. LED light bulb. I've been using Koralia heads for over 20 years. Highly recommended.

Was trying the Fluval Sea CP3....way too loud...installed this one today....no suction cups......no noise....great water flow......winner!

The media could not be loaded.  It is super quiet and puts out a decent amount of flow. Highly recommend.

I want to love this power-head. It's priced right, looks good, and has a great magnetic mount. The impeller design quite simply stinks and that's the best I can say about it.Unit #1 ran for (3) days on Hydor's own Smart Wave timer. The magnetic impeller continuously fell out of the groove and lost the ability to spin. Upon further inspection the bushing was swelled and barely allowed the shaft to spin. Amazon was top notch as usual and shipped out a brand new unit right away.Unit #2 ran for less than 24 hours before it stopped responding. Power to the unit was fine, and I did in fact switch outlets to eliminate that as an issue.If the impeller was removed and then reinserted the unit would usually spin back up. I did not buy the smart wave unit and these power-heads so that I have to babysit it every 15 minutes.I am trying to get in contact with Hydor right now as I am told there is a modified impeller. Hopefully they have a fix for this issue as I cannot expect Amazon to keep sending out units until I get lucky and one works.Update 9-24-12:I adjusted my rating to 4 stars after getting the unit to work correctly for quite a while now.The bushing in the rear of the unit within the housing itself required replacement. It was causing the unit to seize up as described above even though all signs pointed to the impeller swelling and causing the issues. Replacing that one little ceramic bushing turned this unit from a loser to a fantastic addition to the tank.The 4 star rating is only due to the fact that this pump has performed flawlessly since the part change. Not a single hiccup!Hydor did take a while to get back to me, but they did send out a replacement impeller as well.Now this is not something that should have occurred on multiple brand new units that I received and the 4 star rating is quite a change, but I cannot imagine my tank without the flow of the Koralia.

I have used this type of power head for over ten years. To be honest you have to break it down at least once a month and clean it for the magnet on the prop shaft to work strong but that is understandable. I like this side in a 30 gal tank and have two in my 70 gal tank. I also soak it in vinegar water when I see things growing on it or is the red starts to cover. If you maintain as with any moving part you will get years from this head. I have tried many and keep going back to this.

Great product! Pushes water just the right amount in my 75 gallon mixed reef tank! (I had to angle the flow away from my bubble coral because it was a little too strong for that particular coral, but once adjusted it it doing a great job!) It's better priced than any of the LFS's in my area as well. I've used Hydor pumps for 10 years now and this will be my 3rd one, so for the price in a salt water aquarium working day in and day out, I think this product is superb! M package arrived on time with all necessary parts, and worked well right out of the box. I didn't have any loud noise upon start up as others have commented, and mine is running very quietly. I would highly recommend this pump, and that means a lot after having 10+ years experience with them!

Great continuous flow pump that runs very quiet. I had two of these in my 40 gallon reef. Worked like champs. The magnet mounting mechanism is solid and the pumps are mounted on an adjustable peg to point in a variety of directions. I did end up replacing these with a wave maker set up but am considering bringing one of them back in for some additional movement. Nothing wrong with these pumps just wanted to add a controllable system.Bigger than say a Jebao or MP10 but you save some bucks and granted they are not wave makers. Hydor does show these as being used with their wave maker controller but I have seen that they will click every time the speed is changed. I have seen conflicting literature that these can or cannot be used with a wake maker. Even from the manufacturer literature.If you want to use them as they are designed, I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

I bought two of these for my new 180 and had high hopes. They come with a little piece of plastic behind the impeller that keeps it from moving. It's not in the instructions so I assumed it's packing material. It would have been nice to know before plugging it in. I took those out and one is working fine.cthe other stops after a short time and I have to dismantle it to get it going. Very disappointed. I will be replacing them soon unfortunately. One start because the look nice lol

Easy setup, magnet to hold in place is great. Create good circulation for my 5 foot 100 gallon tank.

Buenos materiales. Armen bien sus bombas y lean las instrucciones antes de montarla, de ahí vienen los problemas que han tenido ciertas personas.

Excellent item but returned to seller for refund as not suitable for size for my aquarium

The product came late , didn’t include an English plug and was so noisy it made me think something was missing. I did rate the magnet fitting, so salvaged that and used it on the next wavemaker I bought. Overall thoughts - rubbish
