Flavorina Buckwheat Flakes 500g - Prepared in 1 minute

These are delicious. I mix them raw with buckwheat puffs for breakfast. They make what can be a bit soggy nice and crispy. They arrived much sooner than expected. The packaging is misleading as the flakes hardly fill half the box—but the weight is correct. For buying online this doesn't matter as anyway you can't tell the scale of the photo.

Pros:Great gluten-free ingredient. They reminded me of a cross between couscous, rice, and Migas (Spanish dish made from soaked and fried breadcrumbs). I think they're quite different to porridge oats, but that's a good thing for me because it gives me a new ingredient to play with.Very easy to prepare: 1 part boiling water to 1 part flakes, cook for 1 minute, then fiddle around as you see fit for seasoning/extras/butter/oil/etc.For a very simple dish try adding some butter (or similar) and pickled onions (it worked well with ones that came in an oil/vinegar mix). I'm sure there's better options out there. Most couscous recipes should work.Cons: PackagingThe flakes are loose in the box, no inner plastic bag, so when you take it out of the plastic bag it's been put in for shipping (so not really reducing packing plastic) they start spilling out onto your work-surface and floor.

I really enjoyed these buckwheat flakes. I decided to get them instead of my usual brand and they did not disappoint. They taste great as a breakfast porridge and I will buy them again.

Delicious will buy again. Specially with warm milk and little bit butter.. :)

Excellent quality. Would be great to have this product offered in larger quantities / bulk packages.
