Flintshire Furniture Pentre Guest Bed, Hard Wood, Natural Oak

I had previously read the reviews for this bed and it seemed like a good buy so ordered one. It was delivered within a few days and I was able to clarify that someone was in to accept the parcels. The instructions were clear and all the parts well put together. I was surprised how quickly and easily it went together. I was very pleased with my new bed. A day or so later I was in Lidl and they had single foam mattresses which I purchased and fit the bed perfectly. A fantastic bed for the price.

Generally excellent for the price and a nice "clean" design. As mentioned elsewhere, be careful about mattress thickness. Don't buy one more that 18cm (7 inches) thick or the "trundle bed" will not fit underneath the other one.Assembly was straightforward, and everything lined up very well and it took about 45 minutes for both. Everything is geld together with machine screws with, where necessary, metal inserts in the frame which means it could easily be dismantled if required. The supplied allen key is all the tools that are required.The one thing I would note (and a plea to other manufacturers) is it would be nice if a couple of spares were included for things that could get lost of broken. The wooden slats are, in fact, slightly bowed (for added springing) plywood. Further they are each simply slotted onto the frame using a pair of plastic end caps. Both the slats and the end caps would be very difficult to replace if broken/lost, so it would be nice to have a couple of spares included.

A very high quality bed for the money. It is hardwood and looks very good once assembled. Easy to assemble and plenty of room for the mattress to sit on the trundle whilst stored under the bed. Very pleased and considering buying another for my elder son, although he may want a double. Would highly recommend this product. A similar one in my local shop was £200 more!

Seemed to be an excellent product made from solid oak. Easy to assemble, however wood is not solid, but made up of glued pieces. Fallen to pieces in less than 2 years moderate use. Do not buy

This item is not exactly as described. Firstly, it is not an oak finish and is not oak. Before I purchased I contacted the seller who confirmed that it is RUBBERWOOD. He said it was like a 'blond oak'. In fact it is simply like rubberwood - orangey/mustard and not at all like a natural, light oak finish. Secondly, it is also not "accented with a waxed finish" but instead is satin varnished, not waxed. So it was very difficult to find any other natural or matt oak furniture to match reasonably well. Thirdly, the bed is wider than shown, as it has a plinth on top of the headboard, making it about 102cm wide, which the seller confirmed before I purchased.These misdescriptions aside, I ordered two beds and they are reasonably solid (a bit too much give when you lean on the headboard) and relatively easy to assemble, with pre-sprung slats. One of the 2 boxes delivered per bed is very heavy for a smallish person to handle, but one person can put this together.Note that if you want the same decent pocket sprung mattress for the top and bottom (so they sit level when side by side), choices are limited or non-existent as they need to be less than approx 7.5 inches thick, unless you do without the trundle wheels as one buyer suggested. Easier to find coil or foam mattresses this thick perhaps?Wanted to assemble for guests coming over Xmas. Took a day off work but bed was delivered the following day - very cross; no proper apology just blamed on busy pre-Xmas period (surprisingly, a lot of businesses get busy around Xmas, so don't agree to deliver in time for Xmas then). Main problem was that at the very last stage in assembling the first bed I found that one trundle wheel did not click into place and kept falling out. So please check the wheels click in and out before bothering to assemble the whole thing! (Better still, supplier should check this!) This then set in motion an unreasonably complicated and time consuming process of getting a replacement part delivered which meant taking apart the entire trundle bed and replacing one side rail and a wheel. Also had to contact Amazon to support my case that the large old side rail should be removed by the seller (at their cost) as it was too large to go in the bin or our car. Frustratingly, when the replacement side rail arrived it was damaged with no quality checks - looked very obviously like a second with lots of bashes and dents on it that they wanted to get rid of. Also bad was that the plate holding the fold-out leg in place under a high-tension spring was bent, misaligned and not fully secured. So this is potentially a hazard (esp. for children) - check that the plates are secured with two star screws an an allen bolt. So, given that this had already been too much of a saga I returned the replacement rail and will now work out how to secure the wheel in place so it still swivels. I received no apology or explanation from the seller, just arrangements to collect the replacement parts. No compensation offered either for me accepting a defective item or the time and trouble I've had to go through. Seller is pleasant and helpful enough but ultimately items don't seem to be sufficiently quality controlled and I'm not satisfied.

Very prompt delivery. Good, solid bed with attractive wood. Assembly straightforward apart from patience needed in lining up a couple of bolts. Great value.

This is a beautiful, sturdy, excellent quality bed. I can't believe what great value for money it was. The trundle bed is comfy and can be pulled in and out very easily.

A great bed, well made and esdybti assemble and the trundle is fantastic as a guest bed. Be warned that although this will take a nornal single mattress, the trundle needs to be less than about 20cm thick to fit comfortably ubdetbesth the other bed. Or, like us, just be prepared to lift the bed slightly each time you want to move it 😁 Also to note that although it is an oak effect, the colour is quite orangey so may not be quite what you expect.
