UniBond 1667370 Easy on Easy off Masking Tape, Extra Wide / for painting, art or crafting / 38mm x 25m

I recently learnt using masking tape for watercolours and gouache ect gives a nice border and stops the painting buckling as much due to the wetness. This was my first ever time using masking tape on a painting, it worked amazingly, it was a bargain price and went on and came off very smoothly. It didn't tear my watercolour paper and also barely any paint leaked through, i've included a gouache painting of a witch i did the other night using this very masking paint to fix it to a surface, give a nice border and stop buckling, i even helped my painting dry with a hair dryer, no issues.I will definitely be sticking to unibond!!! I actually really liked the thickness of it too, at 38mm x 25m it stuck in place on the table properly and i could place it to the thickness of border over my paper that i wanted :)

Masking tape.As I am an artists I use this tape a lot. As I'm working I stick the piece I'm working on to a big board so it doesn't keep moving about and there is something solid on the back. I get through loads of masking tape.This unibond is OK for sticking but it doesn't always peel off so easily, in fact I have one little piece still stuck to the back of the drawing, I can't peel it off for fear of tearing the drawing. It came away from the board OK but there is a little tiny piece that wouldn't come away. It won't show once the frame is in place so in this case it doesn't matter too much but it has put me off from buying it again.I do hope this review has helped you.

As an art student I know how masking tapes are supposed to work. Buy from an art supplies shop and you will get the desired effect tape. This however does not work. Sure it’s sticky but the paint or whatever you’re using still leaks down the seam so when you remove there is no perfect line. I spent ages aligning my cutting in lines with this tape and once removed-which was tricky as it really sticks tightly to wallpaper- the line was wobbly and all over the place as the paint has seeped under the edge of the tape despite being firmly applied. Wouldn’t buy again

I used this to mask off emulsion to gloss on the side of a door frame. Left it on for 4 hours, pulled the tape off and the gloss had gone everywhere. I'd very carefully smoothed it down onto the emulsion, making sure there were no air bubbles, but it made no difference, and I now have to go back over the emulsion. Unfortunately I bought three rolls. Complete waste of money.

Abysmal product. If you don't stick it down hard enough, the paint leaches underneath, too hard and it will take up the paint to which it is stuck. In my case it even ripped the surface of the paper. This is not artist quality, just a general purpose tape.

I used this product for water colour painting. It did not allow bleed of paint, but on removal after only 1 hour, it stripped the paper of layers and the paper was torn in parts.

Bought this to tape watercolour paper down to my drawing surface. It's great, tears easily and doesn't rip the paper when I peel it off. I don't get much paint bleeding under the tape, either, so you get a nice clean border.

As with some of the other reviewers i found the paint got under the edges. This is despite making sure the surface was clean, degreased and dry and the tape well pressed down before painting.I'm hoping I can get the paint off with a glass cleaning blade - it's actually a bit of bathroom furniture that is "bled" on to... Not impressed at all!!!
