Does what I wanted it to do. Arrived before expected date range. Works on my CGR S006E battery. Charged quickly. Display allows you to see how far it has charged. Would have been nice if it came with a wall plug, but I knew it didn't when ordered it.

I managed to lose the original battery charger for my DMC-FZ38 and as it's a relatively 'old' model had a look around for a replacement.I discovered this item at a great price with free postage and thought I'd give it a try whilst still searching for the original charger.So, instead of plugging directly into the mains to charge, this one makes use of a USB connection via my laptop, but it does work perfectly well when plugged into the mains via a USB adaptor plug, meaning that I don't need to carry a laptop or whatever around just to recharge my camera - I still need to remember the plug adaptor but that's 'officially' for my phone, anyway!There's a blue LED which indicates the progress of charging.My only reservation and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I find it a bit difficult to position the battery in the slot - my original slid in gracefully, but maybe the more often I use it this will loosen up!But for the price it's ideal and got me using my favourite digital camera again - I'm still hoping I'll find the original charger, but it's handy to have a USB version.
