R Session Tools R-733RC Root Control 1/2" Barrel and Pressing Comb Duo

Shortly after receiving the Root Control Pressing comb, I noticed that it wasn't heating up to it's maximum capacity as stated. Soon after I discovered a short in the wire which eventually split in half. I returned it to the seller on March 6th for a full refund and haven't heard anything back from them. On April 8th, I contacted Amazon's customer service, where they sent another inquiry to this seller. I also followed up with a direct inquiry to Etopa Sundries myself because I was still trying to give them time to respond and give me a refund before giving this review. Today is April 22nd and I still haven't received a response or a refund from them. It's like they just literally stole my money. I'll be filing an A-Z Guarantee claim against them as well as a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I've been shopping with Amazon.com since 2003 and NEVER have I experienced a problem with a seller like this before. HORRIBLE!! My advice would be to steer clear of this seller.

I purchased this tool to help with smoothing down flyaways, and also for smoothing my hair when I have it in a pony tail. My hair dresser told me not to get it for that purpose bc it will make my hair stand up more. I didn't listen, and I wanted to see for myself. She was right. My hair is sticking up more than it usually does. I will have to return it.I have normal textured Asian hair. A trick my hair dresser uses to smooths down my flyaways is simply putting some hair spray on her hands and then smoothing my hair out with it.I think the tool itself will probably be great for other types of hair. Just not mine.

Unfortunately, I'm not real happy with the pressing comb. I really really wanted to like this, but it's just not hot enough for my hair to give me result I had anticipated. Even on the highest setting, I saw no to very, very little difference in my hair. It was like putting a squirt gun on a 5 alarm blaze, just not cutting it. Which goes to show how different hair is... great results with some, and me, absolutely useless for my hair texture. Drats!

Literally fell apart after using a week.

I think the problem I have with this tool is that it is only one sided (unlike a flat iron that has two sides), so it doesn't get my hair as straight as I want it without me having to go over the area a bunch of times. It takes entirely too long for me to get those nappy nappy roots to be straight. I'm an avid consumer for good hair products that leave my hair so nice that I don't have to go to the salon. With this tool, I am only tiding my hair over so that I could prolong a trip to the hairdresser, as opposed to replacing the hairdresser entirely. It leaves my hair soft for the most part, but I just bought an ISO flat iron from the mall that does everything much quicker and easier and even gets the nappiest of my roots...not to mention that it completely alters the texture of my coarse hair to that of a very silky and smooth one :-/ Don't get me wrong, I still appreciate the root control product and I had the 30 day opportunity to return it, but I was overall glad I had it in case of hair emergencies or cases where I had hair too short for the flat iron. My hair is generally long but I do get the short new growth in the front and on the sides.

My R Session pressing comb just fell apart! I'm looking to purchase another pressing comb but I'll stay away from this product. I agree - for the amount of money I paid, it should hold up with minimual usage!

Had a chance to use this tool for a keratin smoothing treatment class and was amazed at how well this item worked at getting the hair straight. I of course used it on hair that would normally be considered extremely coarse and like a "Brillo pad". It worked very well on grabbing the smallest hair and smoothing it out. Now I have found it!!!! Looking forward to using it for the treatments and other services at work.

a good product however the swivel wire became disconnectedI only had less than a year.
