50 Citronella Garden Tea Light Candles

This innocent looking, really well-priced tealight candle is notabargain buy! I had lit one, placed it in a candle holder which has held many a tealight candle before with no problems, and placed it on my kitchen windowsill. I went to feed my child. When returning to the kitchen, I was met with black smoke and high flames flaring out from the candle holder. My fist instinct was to grab the holder and shove it under water but I couldn’t as the heat had cracked the glass and it was super hot to touch. So I grabbed a jug of water and poured it into the holder in the hopes to kill the flame but instead of killing it, the flames shot up! Almost like pouring water into hot oil! I just continued to pour water on it until the flames had drowned. Had my blinds been lower and a few surrounding object been closer and if I hadn’t gone into the kitchen when I did, it would have ended a lot worse! I have never seen this happen with a citronella candle in all my life! There is something of right with this candles ingredients! Read reviews, good and bad, and not every good price means it’s a good buy!

What I expected was 50 citronella candles as in the advertised picture, the same as I ordered last time (see picture). What I received was a broken bag of foul smelling (fuel scented rather than citronella) cheap t lights - most definitely not the same quality. Cheap, nasty and only fit for the bin. I’m not wasting my time returning them. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t buy again. Only giving 1 star because they arrived at all.

People have left poor reviews for these candles and I don’t know why. They have a very strong lovely citronella smell, they burn evenly for at least 2-3 hours solid and I think they are very reasonably priced. I think some people have had freak accidents with their candles destroying the glass holders but I have several glass holders and they are fine with these candles.If burning indoors you may want to only burn a couple as the fragrance is very powerful so too much may potentially cause headaches if you burn more at the same time (I like to light up 6-8 tea light candles in my lounge each evening so I burn 2 citronella and the rest are now Unscented and it leaves a lovely smell in the room). Highly recommend these candles as very good value for money

At first I thought these don't work at all as the smell is not very strong compared to other ones I've had in the past and the insects seemed totally unaffected, however after lighting a few more and and waiting a while I noticed there was hardly an insect in sight. Have had better but they definitely do work!

Sadly, these are not of the highest quality compared to other tealights I have ordered.I have had to give it a 1 star because they don't stay lit, its almost as if the wick burns very quickly down then it goes out.I can't give a rating on the scent higher than 1 star either because it doesn't melt the wax to give off any scent.

These *really* smell, much better than previous ones I've bought in shops. The value is excellent. They do help to keep the insects away, insects love me (my blood is great), I always use citronella candles when we sit out in the evening and I don't get bit. I do use a lot though, normally about 10 of them dotted around the seating area, usually in these  east2eden Set of 4 Black Tea Light Garden Lanterns with Shepherds Crooks  and some cheap glass holders I bought from poundland.

These candles are great. I was worried that they may not last long enough and I would go through them fast but I could get at least 4-6 hours out of them. I took the whole pack on holiday for 2 weeks and still have half left.They come tightly pack and in bubble wrap but the smell is rather strong so if your are storing them in the middle of clothes I suggest wrapping the package up again as they smell transfers only everything - Not necessarily a bad thing as you know they are strong enough to do their job.Lit really easily and stay lit.Did the job - nobody got bitten. Highly recommend

Yes for sure, this second pack sent to me are again absolutely superb, wafting away remind me of my summer holiday's in the South of France, with the sound of the Grass Hoppers scratching in the background, - I do light them up with the same flavoured 'Cone's' and Insense Sticks, but really no need !!, they are strong enough already!!.
