The pictures should show you that it has velcro flaps for the underbelly. That is exactly what I wanted, and I took a chance on getting this one. So glad I lucked out. My pittie has the barrel chest, but isn't super long, so finding a sweater that fits her correctly is a challenge. They generally end up being too long due to her chest size. This one fits her like a glove. She has 26+ in chest, but I only wanted about 16in long on the back. She's about 50 lb. I bought a size medium. It's perfect. It's little weird how the pieces flap and velcro underneath, but the way they do it keeps it looking very sleek. Just little awkward putting it on. 'm sure I'll get used to it, but it's a weight she can wear indoors all winter as she likes having a sweater on. This sweater certainly costs a lot more than any other sweater I have ever bought, but seeing how it fits, and the pretty color, it is completely worth it. It's a great weave too. Not fleecy (catching tons of hair) and not knitted acrylic, which gets very distorted over time. The zippers keep it from being stretched backwards. Highly recommend if you have a dog with a big chest in ratio to their body length. The velcro makes it really adjustable.

The media could not be loaded.  I basically read hundreds of reviews on dog sweaters to find the best bang for my buck and I think this is IT. I mostly was nervous about having something I had to slide over my dogs head because he is a DMT rescue and has a lot of trauma. (If you don’t know what that is, google with caution and rescue with caution if you decide to go that route it can be A LOT of work and not for a first time dog owner and only for those willing to put in the work. I digress.) We’ve put in so much work but he’s not of fan of things going over his head, being toweled off after a rainy walk, etc. So I do wish there was a Velcro at the neck to avoid causing him distress. But what did was leash him up BEFORE sliding the sweater on, and I actually did it outside because he tends to stay still when in a less familiar environment. ANYWAYS. This sweater feels very substantial, I feel like it’s good quality and kept my little Samson warm on a backpacking trip where the temp dipped into the low 40s (that’s what we got it for). Yes he’s fluffy, but he shed his undercoat that he had when we first got him because he lives inside, (I’ll try to add a third picture if I can find it) whereas his shelter was located outside. So he never grew that back, so we wanted to make sure he was still warm when camping and stuff. He didn’t like it at first, but seemed WAY more content when we backpack and camp in cooler weather. We live in the PNW I would say the sizing is pretty accurate. The length was just a LITTLE bit too long, so as you’ll see from the picture it flipped up sometimes because of his tail. But I would rather it be too long than too short because I can always get it hemmed. I have another coat that’s too short and it looks kind of pointless LOL. Long story long, yes the fabric will catch on brush, but overall the fabric and Velcro feel substantial and good. I would buy this sweater again and this brand again 1000%

This is the perfect weight and cut for winter walks in San Diego for my greyhound. It's hard to find something that fits around her big chest without being too long or too floppy around her long very skinny neck. The Velcro is a little tricky to get just right the first time, but once I got it, it's stayed in place. Snug in the right places. Material is soft and the heathered plum color looks great in person.

I tried to upload 2 photos to illustrate, but unable.I love these jackets. I bought in 3 colors for my 14 pounder dog (small). Sadly, the small was too big for my 11 pounder, and the x-small way too small, both in length down his back and width around his chest. There was just too much Velcro exposed on his belly-side, making it in savory for both him and me!I love the fabric look, weight, and slight stretch. I put one on my pup in the morning, and she lives in it comfortably all day long.My one complaint is the back zippered opening that allows access to her harness ring so that a leash can be attached. To keep out the cold, I try to zip it up snug to the harness ring, but the opening WILL NOT stay zipped, exposing her to more cold there and detracting from the good, sleek look of this pretty jacket. But, I like the jackets well enough that I will just learn to live with this design flaw or figure out a make-shift solution (I’m thinking a long safety pin, pinned on each time that would prevent the inevitable unzipping).This is not a complaint, just an encouragement to MEASURE your dog as instructions recommend. My 14 pounder normally wears a Medium. I’m glad I measured, because she fits perfectly in the Small.

Our dog has different harnesses to wear. Depending on the brand, the attachment for the leash can be higher or lower on her back. The two-way zipper on the back of this sweater makes it easy to put the sweater over whatever clean harness comes to hand. We tried extra small, small, and medium (found happy homes for the rejects) and the size small fits our 16 lb terrier mix very well.It also helps that the velcro attaches in two places under her chest, because you can tighten or loosen according to your dog’s girth. So it’s a nice customizable sweater.We love our RC Pets jacket that is made a little like this sweater, but it is getting really hard to find.

Fits my dog perfectly and she loves wearing it. I was so happy with it that I bought a second one. The zipper on the back doesn't line up with the clip on her harness so we just put the harness over the sweater.
